これまで英語論文で漢方処方を説明する際には，か なりの苦労があった．それは，漢方処方を記載する，
あるいは文献を引用するときの標準的方法がなかった
からである．著者によっては，構成生薬を列挙したり，
高速液体クロマトグラフィーを用いた有効成分の含有 量の三次元図を呈示したり，効能・効果を表にまとめ たり，いろいろな方法で発表してきた．漢方処方の説 明に 1 頁以上使っている論文もまれではない．日本語 論文であれば，製品名のみの記載でも，日本語が読め，
日本の状況を知っているものであれば，用いた薬剤を 特定できる．しかし，英語論文では，外国人読者の多 くは用いた漢方製剤を理解できず，また，外国人査読 者のさまざまな要求があるため，漢方製剤の詳細な説 明やそのための図表などで，多くのスペースが使われ てきた．漢方の英語論文において，用いた漢方製剤を 簡潔かつ完全に引用できる方法はないのか．そこで筆 者が委員長を務める日本東洋医学会 EBM 委員会では，
StandardsofreportingKampoproducts＝STORK と いう名称を考案し，STORK のウェブサイトに日本で 販売されている 148 の医療用漢方製剤についての必要 な情報を掲載している15）．たとえば，麦ばく門もん冬どう湯とうであ れば，“bakumondoto，see http://mpdb.nibiohn.go.
jp/stork”のような記載でよい．stork は「コウノト リ」を意味する．ニホンコウノトリの英名は oriental stork（東洋コウノトリ）で，東洋医学にも通じるか もしれない．“赤ん坊はコウノトリのくちばしで運ば れてくる”，“コウノトリが住み着いた家には幸福が訪 れる” という言い伝えがあるので，海外に出してもわ るいイメージはない．エビデンスを運んでほしいとい うわれわれの願いも込められている．
これまでに STORK を引用した論文としては，Ya-nase ら33），Takemoto ら34）の報告がある．漢方製剤 を使った臨床研究を英語論文で発表する際には，ぜひ STORK を引用していただきたい．査読結果などを筆 者 ま で お 知 ら せ い た だ き た い（[email protected]）．今後の表記方法についてさらに改良を重 ねていきたい．また，いずれ処方ごとの URL や PDF を作成したい．
STORK の意義としては，日本の医療用漢方製剤の 情報が一つのウェブサイトの引用で説明できる．論文 著者にとっては，書き方が統一され，余分な情報を記 載する必要がなくなり，紙面の節約にもつながる．海 外の読者や査読者にとっては，STORK を介して日本 の漢方製剤の情報にアクセスできるようになる．
Ⅺ．お わ り に
漢方医学教育が日本の全医学部でなされるような時 代になり，とくに若い世代の医師には漢方医学への偏 見は少なく，現代医療の中で普通に漢方製剤を使う気
運となっている．がん患者およびがんサバイバーが増 えており，サポーティブケアとして，また再発予防や 経過観察に用いる重要な薬剤として，医療用漢方エキ ス製剤が活用されている．これからもそのエビデンス を創出，検証し，伝えて，実臨床に応用していくこと で，医学・医療に少しでも貢献できれば幸いである．
