Due to the enactment of the Act for Eliminating Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities in 2016, reasonable consideration for students with disabilities is required at higher educational institutions . Currently, various support systems such as construction of barrier-free university facilities, support for student life, and consideration in classes and exams seem to be gradually in place. With regard to events and practices conducted outside of universities, however, it is deemed that universities’ responses are not sufficient. Thus, this study scrutinized various problems that occur pertaining to the participation of students using a wheelchair in ski practices to be implemented outside the campus, and examined the ways in which practical training programs were established and the practices are operated. The results suggest that key points are adequate communication with the practice facilities regarding their preparedness for accepting students with disabilities, trust relationship with students with disabilities including their guardians, and the building of mutual understanding with other students participating in the practices.
