What would Earth be like without humans? There is a place where we can see a splendid example of this, where vast and overwhelming natural scener y unfolds: Indonesia comprised of over 13,000 islands. In the Raja Ampat Islands, at the tip of the “beak” of the condor-shaped island of New Guin ea, wh e r e th e wate r s of th e Indian and Pacific Oceans commingle, there is a place that is said to have the most biodiverse marine ecosystem in the world. The islands here protrude from the sea like clusters of mushrooms and do offer excellent scenery, but if you dive into the shallow sea surrounding them, spectacular and breathtaking
coral reefs stretch before you. These photos capture scenes of Earth in which the sea, land, and sky appear fused into a single entity. Indeed, it’s like scenery from ancient times, before humans existed. One can intuit that this primordial environment was brought forth by the struggle for life. MUJI has tried to capture this tableau in photographs. Remember, we always take the natural world as our role model. MUJI’s colors are not necessarily always beige and grey. Continually gazing at natural materials, we would like to seize and reproduce the colors of Earth woven through the struggle for survival.

About New Zealand Sheep
Southern New Zealand sheep are Merino. They spend time grazing on steep slopes in mountainous areas, except during the winter when the mountains are covered in snow, and they live on the plains. They are shorn in the springtime, before they will be exposed to strong sunlight, and their wool is whiter and softer than that of sheep in other countries. Taking advantage of this feature, so New Zealand wool is of ten used for sweaters and coats.

To clean quickly and effectively, you needn’t amass a big collection of tools, but only procure those that are truly necessary. In pursuit of that ideal, we used surveys to develop this cleaning system.
Multitasking
Seven attachments fit onto the telescoping aluminum pole. With t h i s s e t , y o u c a n c l e a n e v e r y area of the house: high places, low places, floors, windows and bathrooms. Because the handle can be detached, it doesn’t use much storage space.

Cotton Comes From The World's Field
There are many types of cotton. Cotton grown in fertile ground rich in individuality, in places like India, China and Tanzania, becomes cotton fabric that maintains the cha -racteristics of that particular soil. MUJI focuses on organically grown cotton from these locations.
On Fields Pesticide Free for Three Years
Organic cotton is that which is gro- wn on fields that have not had syn- thetic pesticides or chemical fer-tilizers applied for three years. We travel to the world’s cotton fields to ascertain how it’s grown and pro-cure our organic cotton.
Making Even More Organic Cotton
Organic cotton made by getting close to nature can’t be harvested all at once in mass quantities. Even so, MUJI is working hard to annually increase the percentage of organic cotton products in our lineup, in order to make products that benefit both the people who make them and who uses them.

As water is the main ingredient of skin care products, we took great care in selecting Quality water, using only natural water drawn from a cave in Kamaishi-shi, Iwate prefecture. This water has slowly filtered naturally over decades to become ultra-soft water that soaks quickly into the skin due to its fine particles. Water that tastes good to drink is also kind on the skin.
