Hello everyone. I’m Koto. Today, I’m going to talk about my homestay. This summer vacation, I joined the homestay program of our school and went to Colorado in America. I stayed there for three weeks.

My host family came to see me at the airport. They welcomed me very warmly. John is my host father. He is a fire fighter. My host mother, Kate, is a piano teacher. She always helped me when I was in trouble. My host brother, Chris, is 15 years old. He plays baseball and he is a good pitcher. Mary is my host sister and she is 8. She is a very good dancer. She taught me some dances and we danced together. My host family were all very kind. They also have two cats and a dog.

From Monday to Friday, we took English lessons in the morning at school. I enjoyed many school events, too. I especially liked the prom. It is a kind of party. I danced with both my Japanese and American friends. It was fun and this was one of my best memories from Colorado.

The day before I came back to Japan, Kate and John prepared a chocolate cake for me. Chris and Mary gave me letters and a flag of Colorado. I was so happy. When I left Colorado, I couldn’t stop crying. I will never forget my host family and friends in Colorado. I want my host family to visit me in Japan someday. Thank you for listening.
