people know the basics: exercise, eat right, avoid smoking, get enough sleep, cut down on alcohol, reduce stress, stay socially active, and so on. However, sticking to these activities often becomes an uphill battle after a while.

Some people find it very challenging to keep up with this kind of lifestyle because of demands from work and personal relationships. For some, it’s hard to break an old bad habit such as smoking and binge drinking, while others complain about losing the motivation to continue.

So, how can we live a consistently healthy lifestyle? First, we need to identify our ultimate goal. Figuring out the reason why we want something can keep us more motivated. From this, we should come up with realistic and achievable steps that we are prepared to take. It would also help if we find people who can support and cheer us on. Keeping track of our progress in a journal also reminds us to keep doing the right thing every time.

B. Quick Q&A (2-3 minutes)

3. Why do you think some people do not practice healthy lifestyles? 4. What’s the hardest thing about keeping a healthy lifestyle? 5. What would be your best motivation to stick to a healthy lifestyle?
