Abstract: In recent years, the manufacturing industry has seen a shift of the domain of competition from
“Functional Value” such as performance / quality which can easily be expressed numerically to “Emotional value” such as design / UX (User eXperience) which is hard to be represented with numerical. The rise of companies that focus on design, such as Apple, Samsung and IKEA, is remarkable. However, while the importance of design has been re-recognized in this way, there are two difficult subjects. In Kansei engineering, it is mainstream to evaluate predefined viewpoints in 5-7 steps by SD method (Semantic Differential). Here is the second problem, which is the confidentiality of the design. Design is often in the position of a top secret in a company, so there is a hurdle to take a questionnaire to customers. Therefore, in recent years, attempts to utilize voices of customers with high immediate effect and no problem of confidentiality are increasing. However, since there are many garbage data, there are few cases where validity of accuracy has been verified. Therefore, in this research, we validate the quantitative sensitivity evaluation of new designs from the voices of customers who are overflowing in the markets such as bulletin boards, blogs, etc. in car exterior design.
