The Tochigi Prefectural Museum features exhibits such as dioramas of mountains and rivers, indigenous flora and fauna, depictions of past lifestyles and culture of Tochigi. Commentaries in English and Chinese (simplified) are now available for a portion of the permanent exhibits at this museum, and can be accessed by using the multilingual exhibit commentary app, TochiHakuNavi.

The museum exhibits a large number of photos and crafts which introduce the nature and culture of Oku-Nikko. The museum has a tourist information center which provides information on Oku-Nikko's nature as well as tourist guidance.

■1928年ね ん、イタリア大使館た い し か んの夏な つの別荘べっそうとして、建築家け ん ち く かアントニン・レーモンドの設計せっけいで、 奥 お く 日光 にっこう の中禅寺ちゅうぜんじ湖畔こ は んに建たてられ、1997年ね んまで使つ かわれた建物たてものを、記念き ね ん公園こうえんとして整備せ い びし、 公開 こうかい しています。
The villa at Lake Chuzenji in Oku-Nikko was constructed as a summer villa for the Italian embassy in 1928 under the design of architect Antonin Raymond. It was used as such until 1997, and was then transformed into a memorial park and later opened to the public.

British Embassy Villa Memorial Park
■1896年ね ん、当時と う じの英国えいこく外交官がいこうかんアーネスト・サトウの山荘さんそうとして奥お く日光にっこうの中禅寺ちゅうぜんじ湖畔こ は んに 建てられた 、その後ご、英国えいこく大使館た い し か ん別荘べっそうとして 2008年ね んまで使われたつ か 建物たてものを、記念き ね ん公園こうえんとし て整備せ い びし、公開こうかいしています。
The villa was built in Oku-Nikko as a mountain villa for British envoy Ernest Satow in 1896. Afterwards it was used as a villa for the British embassy until 2008, when it was renovated into a memorial park and later opened to the public.

This aquarium features freshwater fish, including those found in the Nakagawa River that runs through Tochigi Prefecture.
