Abstract
The study aims to clarify the attitude of preschool teachers toward the atmosphere in childcare. First, it examines the atmosphere in childcare as required by nursery school guidelines, kindergarten education guidelines, and commentary books. Consequently, the results revealed that nurseries need to create a distinct atmosphere. In addition, the study discovered that atmosphere promotes the emotional stability of children and leads to their independence. Based on these results, four childcare professionals were interviewed to examine in depth the attitude of preschool teachers toward the atmosphere in childcare. SCAT analysis pinpointed three elements, namely (1) intentional atmosphere, (2) unintentional atmosphere, and (3) the meaning of creating an atmosphere by childcare workers.
