UST Foreign Language Café has picked its Students of the Month for thisissue. They are all volunteer staff of the English Club here on Taipei Campus. 葉 致漢has been forced to take the burden of being the club leader by some evil Language Center staff. 楊蕙安 voluntarily offered to take the vice president position of the club. And 湯典運is willing to do almost anything to support those two. The Language Center would like to give special thanks to the hardworking students for their involvement and everything they do for the club.
For those who would like to be a member of our volunteer staff, you are always welcome to talk to any of our nice and kind staff in the Language Center.

A Day to Show Our Appreciation!
Mother's Day is an important day all around the world, even though it started in North America and Europe. Not all
countries celebrate it on the same day, but the most popular day is the second Sunday in May. It is, of course, a day to honor our mothers and make them feel extra special. Young children get especially excited about Mother’s Day and put a lot of effort into making cards and presents for their Moms in America. For mothers, it is like having a second birthday.
Mother’s Day in the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia, etc. means mothers usually get the day off from housework. It is common for children to cook for their mother so she can have breakfast in bed. She also receives presents, flowers and cards. In America, Mother's Day is the busiest day of the year for restaurants, as children take their Mums to lunch and/or dinner. Americans spend a lot on this day .In Sweden, people buy small plastic flowers and the money raised goes to help needy mothers and their children.

13 校慶快來了~ 共同來討論今年學校過生日吧~ 我跟其他大學生都一樣，我也很期待校慶活動中有精采的節目， 園遊會、歌唱大賽、成果展還有校慶舞會…都是我所期待的。 或許說的很容易，需要很完整的規劃比較實際。 其實規劃活動一定要先預定立場及目的，再去找資源，而不事先 考量現在所擁有的資源有哪些再去做規劃，校慶無非是要跟大家 說我們學校又前進了一年，也是要告訴大家我們是一家人，我們 要一起慶祝一起分享這份喜悅，而目的就是讓大家更有向心力， 我認為就如同我上述說的，有舞會、有園遊會、有歌唱大賽以及 成果展…等等節目，我相信同學們都會開心的。 Ps：這只是我的個人想法，僅供參考。謝謝 By 飛工碩一甲李志興

It’s our CUST school anniversary!!! Just like other fellow students, I am also
looking forward to a series of awesome events such as, a carnival, a
singing contest, presentations, and parties.
It’s easier said than done! Actually, it takes a lot of efforts to plan a
great event. At first, we have to know the purpose of the event and
the activities involved, and then look for resources. I don’t think it’s
a good idea to plan mainly based on what resources we have on
hand.
School anniversary is such a great time to celebrate as we welcome a
new school year to come. We are like a big family and through this
event, we get to celebrate and share our joy together. Of course, the
main purpose is to make everyone stay together closely and move
toward the same goal.
As I mentioned above, a party, a carnival, a singing contest, and an
exhibition will make this anniversary event
lively and certainly attract many students to
come and participate.
