After taking this course, student should be able to:
1. Be familiar with concepts of healing and culture.
2. Explain the origin of term such as hospitality and settai.
3. Achieve an understanding of healing and culture, especially actors and practices in tourism.
この科目を通じて、
1．癒しと文化の概念を理解する。
2．ホスピタリティや接待の語源を説明できる。
3．観光の場において、癒しの文化にかかわる主体とその実践を理解する。
■Course Description／講義の概要
This course is designed to introduce a concept of healing and culture in the context of tourism. In this course, students will study about ʻhealingʼ in contemporary Japanese society and a space-time of healing with various topics and cases such as religion, pilgrimage, resorts, hot springs and participant of Honolulu marathon.
本科目では、「癒しの文化」という概念を観光の文脈から紹介する。受講生は、現代日本社会における「癒し」に加え、
宗教、聖地巡礼、リゾート、温泉観光地、ハワイ・ホノルルマラソン参加者の実践を含む多様なトピックおよび事例 を通して、癒しの時空間について学習する。

Preparation and review are required to understand this course. Read related books and articles before and after class. (preparation：
2 hours per week, review：1 hour per week)

■Course Goals／到達目標 Course objectives are:
-To understand the basic academic discussions of tourism studies and the basic perspectives on tourism phenomenon -To understand the meanings of tourism studies through the current topics of tourism
-To learn the current status and trends of tourism in Japan
・観光学の基礎を学び、観光について考えるための基本的な視座を身につけることができる。
・具体的事例をとおして、観光学を学ぶ意味を理解することができる。
・日本の観光の現状を知ることができる。
■Course Description／講義の概要
This course provides the basic academic discussions of tourism studies using the basic textbook,『新現代観光総論』ch1~ch5.
The course will introduce todayʼs topics of tourism in the world to understand the contents of the textbook experimentally. In addition, students will study thoroughly their local area, Fujisawa City, and inbound tourism in Japan to which Japanese tourism policy gives the priority. Through both individual and group activities, students can not only enhance their knowledge from the textbook but also use the knowledge in order to examine the current tourism phenomenon.
本講義は、観光学の入門的教科書（『新現代観光総論』第1章〜第5章）を用いて、観光について考える際に必要な視 座を学ぶ。教科書の内容を具体的に理解するために、世界で生じている観光現象を紹介する。また、多摩大学グロー バルスタディーズ学部の在る藤沢市や、現在日本の観光政策において重要となっているインバウンド観光についても 重点的に取り上げる。教科書の内容を覚えるだけでなく、学んだ知識を用いて具体的事象を捉えられるよう、個人や グループでのアクティビティを取り入れる。

- Preparation for the presentation (5~10 hours for one presentation) - Preparation for the midterm and final tests (1-2 hours per week) - Review related literature. (1 hour per week)

■Course Description／講義の概要
Tourism is a social, cultural and economic phenomenon, and the tourism industry is expected to be a leading industry in the world in the 21st century. In this course, students will study the basic understandings and theories of tourism studies. Precisely, this course will cover a wide range of themes such as economy, information, environment, local community, transportation and tourism business.
観光は、社会的、文化的、経済的な現象であり、「21世紀のリーディング産業」としても大きな期待が寄せられている。
この科目では、履修者は観光学の基礎や主要な理論を学ぶ。具体的には、経済、情報、環境、地域社会、交通、観光 ビジネス等、幅広い項目についての知識を習得する。
