■Course Description／講義の概要
長文読解に時間を割き、内容の理解だけにとどまらず、簡単な要旨を作成できるように練習していく。
Comprehension of text and make summary.
現代の日本社会をより理解できるよう、音声・文書等のサポート資料を用いて時事問題を読み解く。
意見交換することで自分の意見を述べる方法を身につけていく。
Study about current affairs in Japanese society by audio and written document.
Acquire skills for discourse in Japanese.
日本語能力試験N1合格を目指す Goal ：To obtain JLPT N1

・予習：各課の文法解説に目を通しておくこと。また、時事問題で扱うテーマについて、インターネットで調べたり して、自分の考えや意見をまとめておく。
・復習：テキストの指定箇所の練習問題など

■Course Goals／到達目標
This course aims to acquire and develop English communication skills required in a variety of jobs in tourism-related industries.
Students will learn and expand their vocabularies and phrases used in such job situations. The course will also explore the current situation and issues of tourism industries in Japan. The course can help students acquire Kanko Eiken grade 3 and 2.
この科目は、観光関連産業のさまざまな業種における英語コミュニケーション能力の習得と伸長を図ることを目的と する。観光関連の仕事に従事する中で使われる語彙やフレーズの習得・伸長を図ると同時に、日本の観光業の現状と その課題について探る。観光英語検定3級及び2級取得にも役立つ。
■Course Description／講義の概要
Using a textbook designed to prepare to take "Tourism English Proficiency Test", classes consist of lectures, role-plays, conversation exercises, and presentations. Worksheets will be assigned every week to ensure the acquisition of vocabularies and basic phrases used in the travel and tourism industry. Furthermore, through presentations, students will learn some basic skills to introduce and analyze recent news on tourism in Japan.
観光英語検定取得準備用のテキストを使う。授業は講義、ロールプレー、会話練習、プレゼンテーションなどにより 運営していく。観光業で使われる基本的なボキャブラリーとフレーズの確実な習得を図るために、毎週課題が出される。
また、プレゼンテーションを通して、最近の観光関連のニュースを紹介し、分析するスキルを学ぶ。

1. Do the exercises (e.g. dictation, reading comprehension, and writing) in the textbook before class (30 minutes every week).
テキストの指定の範囲を学習しておくこと。学習は、ディクテーション、読解、英作文など。（毎週30分）
2. Prepare for vocabulary tests and mock presentations (15 minutes every week)
毎週授業に沿って課題(単語テストや発表の模擬練習）が出されるので、準備しておくこと。（毎週15分）
3. Search and read recent news related to tourism in Japan (15 minutes every week).
日本の観光業における最近のニュースに目を向け、発表に向けてリサーチをしておくこと（毎週15分）
4. Prepare for a presentation following the steps a)~g) below (30 minutes every week).
プレゼンテーションに向けて、各自発表日に合わせて、その前後で段階的に以下a）〜g）の準備をしておくこと。（毎週30分）
a) Choose a recent article on tourism.
日本の観光業における過去1年以内のニュースの中で、クラスに紹介したいものを選ぶ。
b) Summarize and analyze the impacts the news may have on the tourism industry. Write a draft by 2 weeks prior to your presentation day.
そのニュースの要約と、それが日本の観光業に及ぼす影響を分析する。発表の2週間前までにドラフトを仕上げる。
c) Make a vocabulary list.
専門用語の単語リストを作る。
d) Make presentation slides.
発表に使うスライドを作る。
e) Look at the comments from the instructor carefully and edit your draft.
教員のチェック後、戻されたドラフトをさらに推こうして書き直す。
f) Complete a reflection sheet on your presentation.
発表が終わったら、振り返りシートを作成する。
g) Submit your final report.
発表後の原稿をさらに見直して、レポートを完成させる。

この科目は、観光関連産業のさまざまな業種における英語コミュニケーション能力の習得と伸長を図ることを目的と する。観光関連の仕事に従事する中で使われる語彙やフレーズの習得・伸長を図ると同時に、世界遺産とその地域に おける観光業の現状と課題について探る。IIは世界遺産検定3級及び2級取得にも役立つ。
