“Exhibition: Hunters of the Ocean” will be held
until October 2 at the National Science Museum in
Ueno, Tokyo. A highlight of the exhibition will be
a great white shark on display in Japan for the first
time. In total, 160 valuable specimens including fish,
mammals, birds, and reptiles will be exhibited.

on. Instead of having a manicure, people are
sticking these on top of their nails. Stick-on
nails are gaining popularity amongst women of all
ages because they simply need to be stuck on and this
means it’s not necessary to go to a nail salon. They
are popular with people from various occupations,
especially nurses, who are not able to have their nails
painted fashionably on weekdays.

Last year, Sega Interactive Co., Ltd. developed
“Nail Puri” machines that can print out stick-on nails,
and installed them in amusement centers. ECHIZEN
Miho, who is in charge of marketing at Sega
Interactive Co., Ltd., says, “We collaborated with
a printing company to develop attractively-colored
sheets with an adhesive that won’t come off when wet,
but will when you want to remove them.” Because
sparkling holograms can also be attached to nails,
some people put them on before going to a concert.
