FreeBSD 11.2-RELEASE #0 r335510: Fri Jun 22 04:32:14 UTC 2018は、次の

条件を満たす場合に検証対象ハードウェア「maker:NEC,

product:Express5800/D120h [N8100-2539Y], serial:7Y00113, sku:N8100-2539Y,

version:FR1.1」において"Legacy"モードで正常に動作する。

BIOSをレガシーモードで使用

512バイトセクタのストレージを使用

LSI MegaRAID RAIDコントローラドライバとしてmfi(4)ではなくmrsas(4)を

使用

工場出荷時のBIOSはUEFIブートを使用する設定になっているため、次のように

BIOSの設定を変更する必要がある。

システム起動時、マザーボードの起動画面が表示されたらF2キーを押してBIOSの

設定モードに入る。

カーソルキーでBootを選択し、さらに項目「Boot Mode」に合わせてからEnter

キーを押す。

表示される項目からLegacyを選択してEnterキーを押す。

カーソルキーでSave & Exitを選択し、さらに項目「Save Changes and Exit」に

合わせてからEnterキーを押して設定の保存と再起動を実行する。

なお、512バイトセクタのストレージに関しては注文時にその旨を伝える必要があ

る。mrsas(4)については後述する。

"UEFI"モードで1way/2waアーキテクチャを使用する場合

FreeBSD 11.2-RELEASE #0 r335510: Fri Jun 22 04:32:14 UTC 2018は、次の

条件を満たす場合に検証対象ハードウェア「maker:NEC,

version:FR1.1」において"UEFI"モードで正常に動作する。

BIOSをUEFIモードで使用

LSI MegaRAID RAIDコントローラドライバとしてmfi(4)ではなくmrsas(4)を

使用

システム起動時、マザーボードの起動画面が表示されたらF2キーを押して設定モー

ドに入る。

工場出荷時のBIOSはUEFIブートを使用する設定になっており、カーソルキーで

Bootを選択し、項目「Boot Mode」がUEFIになっていることを確認する。Legacyに

なっている場合は「Boot Mode」に合わせてEnterキーを押し、表示される項目から

UEFIを選択しEnterキーを押す。

合わせてからEnterキーを押して設定の保存と再起動を実行する。

なお、mrsas(4)については後述する。

1way/2way共通

FreeBSD 11.2-RELEASEはデフォルトではLSI MegaRAID RAIDコントローラドラ

イバとしてmfi(4)を使用する。ハードディスクはmfi(4)で認識はされるが、動作が不

安定であるため、インストーラを起動する段階でmfi(4)ではなくmrsas(4)を使用する

ように設定を変更する必要がある。

インストーラ起動時にブートローダが表示された段階で3キーを押し、ローダプロ

ンプトへ移行する。

ローダプロンプトで次のように入力を実施。mfi(4)を無効化し、mrsas(4)を有効化

したインストーラを起動する。

set hw.mfi.mrsas_enable=1

boot

インストールの最後の段階でLive CDの起動を選択し、/mnt/boot/loader.confに

次の設定を書き込む。

BIOSをレガシーモードで使用している場合、基本的にストレージは512セクタの製

品を使用することが推奨される。BIOSは4Kセクタのストレージを認識しないため、

4Kセクタのストレージを起動対象として処理できない。

起動にPEXブートやUSBメモリからの起動を使用するということであれば、LSI

MegaRAID RAIDコントローラドライバとしてmrsas(4)ではなくmfi(4)を使用するこ

とでFreeBSD側から利用できるようにすることもできる。

インストールしたFreeBSD 11.2-RELEASE #0 r335510: Fri Jun 22 04:32:14

UTC 2018を以降のバージョンにアップグレードする場合には注意が必要。以降の

バージョンではLSI MegaRAID SASドライバとしてmfi(4)ではなくmrsas(4)がデフォ

ルトでアタッチされるように挙動が変更される可能性がある。

LSI MegaRAID SASドライバとしてmrsas(4)が使われた場合、/dev/以下に表示さ

れるファイル名は次のように変更される。

mfi0

→ mrsas0

mfid0

→ da0

mfid0s1 → da0s1a

mfid0s2 → da0s1b

論理パーティションの表示や名称は今後変更される可能性もあり、上記とは違う名

前になる可能性もある。アップグレード対象のバージョンのリリースノートを参考に

するとともに、適切な名称で/etc/fstabを書き換えるなどしてアップグレードを実施

する必要がある。

FreeBSDプロジェクトは、FreeBSD 11.0-RELEASE以降はプランチベースでのサ

ポートを行い、最低5年間サポートする。FreeBSD 11.0-RELEASE以降は、ブランチ

における最新のリリースバージョンのみがサポートの対象となる。このため、

FreeBSD 11.0-RELEASE以降はマイナーアップグレードごとにアップグレードを実施

し、FreeBSD 11.1-RELEASE、FreeBSD 11.2-RELEASEへとバージョンアップを実

施する必要がある。カーネルをカスタマイズしない限り、freebsd-update(8)コマンド

を使ってバイナリアップデートを実施できる。
