Product information

WARNING

Health Warnings

• If you have a pacemaker or other internal electronic device, consult your physician before using a heart rate monitor.

• Always consult your physician before beginning or modifying any exercise program.

• The Garmin® device, heart rate monitor, and other

acces-sories are consumer devices, not medical devices, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. The device and accessories could suffer from interference from external electrical sources. • The heart rate readings are for reference only, and no

responsibility is accepted for the consequences of any erroneous readings.

• Garmin activity trackers rely on sensors that track your movement. The data and information provided by Garmin activity trackers is an estimation of your activity, but may not be completely accurate, which may include step, sleep, distance, and calorie data.

Off-Road Navigation Warnings

If your Garmin device is able to suggest off-road routes for various outdoor activities, such as biking, hiking, and

all-terrain vehicles, follow these guidelines to ensure safe off-road navigation.

• Always use your best judgment and exercise common sense when making off-road navigational decisions. The Garmin device is designed to provide route suggestions only. It is not a replacement for attentiveness and proper preparation for outdoor activities. Do not follow the route suggestions if they suggest an illegal course or would put you in an unsafe situation.

• Always carefully compare information displayed on the device to all available navigation sources, including trail signs, trail conditions, weather conditions, and other factors that may affect safety while navigating. For safety, always resolve any discrepancies before continuing navigation, and defer to posted signs and conditions. • Always be mindful of the effects of the environment and

the inherent risks of the activity before embarking on off-road activities, especially the impact that weather and weather-related trail conditions can have on the safety of your activity. Ensure that you have the proper gear and supplies for your activity before navigating along unfamiliar paths and trails.

Battery Warnings

A lithium-ion battery can be used in this device. Coin cell batteries can be used in the accessory.

If these guidelines are not followed, batteries may experi-ence a shortened life span or may present a risk of damage to the device, fire, chemical burn, electrolyte leak, and/or injury.

• Do not leave the device exposed to a heat source or in a high-temperature location, such as in the sun in an

unattended vehicle. To prevent the possibility of damage, remove the device from the vehicle or store it out of direct sunlight, such as in the glove box.

• Do not disassemble, modify, remanufacture, puncture or damage the device or batteries.

• Do not immerse or expose the device or batteries to water or other liquids, fire, explosion, or other hazard. • Do not use a sharp object to remove the removable

batteries.

• KEEP BATTERIES AWAY FROM CHILDREN. • NEVER PUT BATTERIES IN MOUTH. Swallowing can

lead to chemical burns, perforation of soft tissue, and death. Severe burns can occur within 2 hours of inges-tion. Seek medical attention immediately.

• Replaceable coin cell batteries may contain perchlorate material. Special handling may apply. See www.dtsc. ca.gov/hazardouswaste/perchlorate.

• Do not use a power and/or data cable that is not ap-proved or supplied by Garmin.

• If using an external battery charger, only use the Garmin accessory approved for your product.

• Only replace batteries with correct replacement batteries. Using other batteries presents a risk of fire or explosion. To purchase replacement batteries, see your Garmin dealer or the Garmin website.

• Do not operate the device outside of the temperature ranges specified in the printed manual in the product packaging.

• When storing the device for an extended time period, store within the temperature ranges specified in the printed manual in the product packaging.

Software License Agreement

BY USING THE DEVICE, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE FOLLOWING SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT. PLEASE READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY.

Garmin Ltd. and its subsidiaries (“Garmin”) grant you a limited license to use the software embedded in this device (the “Software”) in binary executable form in the normal operation of the product. Title, ownership rights, and intellectual property rights in and to the Software remain in Garmin and/or its third-party providers.

You acknowledge that the Software is the property of Garmin and/or its third-party providers and is protected under the United States of America copyright laws and international copyright treaties. You further acknowledge that the structure, organization, and code of the Software, for which source code is not provided, are valuable trade secrets of Garmin and/or its third-party providers and that the Software in source code form remains a valuable trade secret of Garmin and/or its third-party providers. You agree not to decompile, disassemble, modify, reverse assemble, reverse engineer, or reduce to human readable form the Software or any part thereof or create any derivative works based on the Software. You agree not to export or re-export the Software to any country in violation of the export control laws of the United States of America or the export control laws of any other applicable country.

Map Data Information

Garmin uses a combination of governmental and private data sources. Virtually all data sources contain some inaccurate or incomplete data. In some countries, complete and accurate map information is either not available or is

prohibitively expensive.

Limited Warranty

This Garmin product is warranted to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for one year from the date of purchase. Within this period, Garmin will, at its sole option, repair or replace any components that fail in normal use. Such repairs or replacement will be made at no charge to the customer for parts or labor, provided that the customer shall be responsible for any transportation cost. This warranty does not apply to: (i) cosmetic damage, such as scratches, nicks and dents; (ii) consumable parts, such as batteries, unless product damage has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; (iii) damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, water, flood, fire, or other acts of nature or external causes; (iv) damage caused by service performed by anyone who is not an authorized service pro-vider of Garmin; or (v) damage to a product that has been modified or altered without the written permission of Garmin, or (vi) damage to a product that has been connected to power and/or data cables that are not supplied by Garmin. In addition, Garmin reserves the right to refuse warranty claims against products or services that are obtained and/or used in contravention of the laws of any country.

Our navigation products are intended to be used only as a travel aid and must not be used for any purpose requiring precise measurement of direction, distance, location or topography. Garmin makes no warranty as to the accuracy or completeness of map data.

Repairs have a 90 day warranty. If the unit sent in is still under its original warranty, then the new warranty is 90 days or to the end of the original 1 year warranty, depending upon which is longer.

Garmin retains the exclusive right to repair or replace (with a new or newly-overhauled replacement product) the device or software or offer a full refund of the purchase price at its sole discretion. SUCH REMEDY SHALL BE YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR ANY BREACH OF WARRANTY.

To obtain warranty service, contact your local Garmin au-thorized dealer or call Garmin Product Support for shipping instructions and an RMA tracking number.

Securely pack the device and a copy of the original sales receipt, which is required as the proof of purchase for warranty repairs. Write the tracking number clearly on the outside of the package. Send the device, freight charges prepaid, to any Garmin warranty service station.

Online Auction Purchases: Products purchased through

online auctions are not eligible for rebates or other special offers from Garmin warranty coverage. Online

auction confirmations are not accepted for warranty ver-ification. To obtain warranty service, an original or copy of the sales receipt from the original retailer is required. Garmin will not replace missing components from any package purchased through an online auction.

International Purchases: A separate warranty may be

pro-vided by international distributors for devices purchased outside the United States depending on the country. If applicable, this warranty is provided by the local in-coun-try distributor and this distributor provides local service for your device. Distributor warranties are only valid in the area of intended distribution. Devices purchased in the United States or Canada must be returned to the Garmin service center in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, or Taiwan for service.

Australian Purchases: Our goods come with guarantees

that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reason-ably foreseeable loss or damage. Turning On the Device

The first time you turn on the device, you are prompted to configure system settings and the user profile.

Charging the Device

WARNING

2 Align the charger posts with the contacts on the back of

the device, and connect the charging clip 1 securely to

the device.

3 Charge the device completely. 4 Press 2 to remove the charger.

Playing Golf

Before you can play golf, you must wait until the device acquires satellite signals, which may take 30 to 60 seconds.

1 Select OK. 2 Select Start Round.

The device locates satellites and calculates your

loca-tion.

3 Select a course from the list.

4 Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup

Hole View

The device shows the current hole you are playing, and automatically transitions when you move to a new hole.

NOTE: By default, the device calculates the distance to

the front, middle, and back of the green. If you know the location of the pin, you can set it more precisely(Moving the Pin, page 13).

Dual Greens (Available on APAC golf

In some particular golf courses, 2 Greens/Holes share the same Teeing Ground. The

greens are just beside each other, normally said “left” and “right”, as the reference direction for golfers.

1 Select OK > Change Green to switch between Left and

Right Green after you finish one of holes.

2 The changing of the left/ right hole will be shown on the

upper left side of the screen as well as the yardages to the front, end and middle of the green.

Measuring a Shot

1 While playing golf, select OK. 2 Select Measure Shot. 3 Walk to your ball.

The distance automatically resets when you take

anoth-er shot.

TIP: You can select DOWN to view previous shots.

Viewing Hazards

You can view distances to hazards along the fairway for par 4 and 5 holes Hazards that affect shot selection are displayed individually or in groups to help you determine the distance to layup or carry.

Viewing Layup and Dogleg Distances

You can view a list of layup and dogleg distances for par 4 and 5 holes.

Using the Odometer

You can use the odometer to record the time and distance traveled.

From the main menu, select Odometer.

Resetting the Odometer

Turning Off the Odometer

1 From the main menu, select Odometer. 2 Select OK.

3 Select Turn Off.

Keeping Score

When scoring is enabled, you are prompted to enter your score when you are on the green. You can adjust the score manually at any time during a game.

Before you can record statistics, you must enable statistics tracking (System Settings, page 24).

• If your shot from the tee hit the fairway, select In

Fairway.

• If your shot from the tee missed the fairway, select

Your statistics are recorded on your scorecard. You can view your scorecard using Garmin Connect™.

Pause Round

To pause round while having a break during the game.

1 Select OK > Pause Round to switch into Watch Mode in

order to save battery.

2 Select OK > Resume Round to switch continue the

game. The game will start from the hole where you paused the round.

Continue Round

To continue round for golfers who would like to combine two 9-hole golf courses into an 18-hole scorecard.

1 After finishing the first 9-hole, press the lower-right

button to input your 1st 9-hole scorecard.

2 Select OK > Continue Round to continue another

nine-hole as well as saving the 1st 9-nine-hole scorecard.

3 Select the 9-hole courses that you would like to continue

for the round.

4 The hole number will change to 10 automatically when

you walk to the 1st hole of another 9-hole golf courses.

Sunrise/Sunset

The sunrise/sunset information is to provide you the refer-ence of planning a golf play and tempo to prevent yourself from dim environment.

Select OK > Sunrise/Sunset to check the sunrise/sunset information.

Continue with the subsequent 9-hole

course

Each round has different numbers of holes and various forms of terrain. The facility provides 9-hole and 18-hole golf courses. Therefore, at the end of a 9-hole course, you will be asked whether you want to continue with the subsequent 9-hole course.

1 After the 9-hole courses scorecard recorded, choose

Continue with the 9-hole Course.

2 Select the terrain that you would like to continue on for

3 After your selection, the scorecards of your first and

second 9 hole courses will automatically be merged into one.

4 The golf couse will continue when you proceed to the 1st

hole of a subsequent 9-hole golf course.

Garmin Connect™

Garmin Connect is your online statistics tracker where you can analyze and share all your rounds. You can connect with your friends on the Garmin Connect site or mobile app. Garmin Connect gives you the tools to track, analyze, share, and encourage each other. To sign up for a free account, go to GarminConnect.com/golf.

Store your rounds: After you complete and save a round

with your device, you can upload that round to Garmin Connect and keep it as long as you want.

Analyze your data: You can view more detailed information

about your round, including scorecards, statistics, course information, and customizable reports.

Share your activities: You can connect with friends to

fol-low each other’s activities or post links to your activities on your favorite social networking sites.

Automatic Shot Detection

Your Approach device features automatic shot detection and recording. Each time you take a shot, your location is recorded so it can be viewed later on Garmin Connect. You must enable scoring to allow automatic shot detection

Automatic Course Updates

Your Approach device features automatic course updates with Garmin Connect Mobile. When you connect your device to your smartphone, the golf courses you use most frequently are updated automatically.

Pairing Your Smartphone

To get the most out of your Approach® device, you should

pair it with your smartphone and complete the setup using the Garmin Connect Mobile app.

NOTE: Unlike other Bluetooth devices that are paired from

the Bluetooth settings on your mobile device, your Approach device must be paired directly through the Garmin Connect Mobile app.

1 On your compatible smartphone, download and install

the latest version of the Garmin Connect Mobile app.

2 Open the Garmin Connect Mobile app.

3 Select an option to add your device to your Garmin

Connect Mobile account:

• If this is the first device you are pairing with the Garmin Connect Mobile app, follow the on-screen instructions.

• If you have already paired another device using the Garmin Connect Mobile app, from the settings menu, select Garmin Devices >

4 On your Approach device, select OK.

5 On your Approach device, select Settings > Bluetooth > Pair Smartphone.

Phone Notifications

Phone notifications require a compatible smartphone to be paired with the Approach device. When your phone receives messages, it sends notifications to your device.

Enabling or Disabling Notifications

1 From the main menu, select Settings > Bluetooth > Notifications.

2 Select an option:

• To enable notifications, select Turn On. • To disable notifications, select Turn Off.

Viewing Notifications

1 From the main menu, select Notifications. 2 Select a notification.

3 Select UP or DOWN to scroll through the contents of the

notification.

Activity Tracking

Enabling or Disabling Activity Tracking

The activity tracking feature records your daily step count, step goal, distance traveled, and calories burned for each recorded day. Your calories burned includes your base metabolism plus activity calories.

You can enable or disable activity tracking at any time.

• To enable activity tracking features, select Turn On. • To disable activity tracking features, select Turn Off.

Viewing Step Totals

Before you can view step totals, you must turn on activity tracking.

From the watch screen, select UP or DOWN to view the accumulated step count, step goal, distance traveled, and calories burned.

Using the Move Alert

Before you can use the move alert, you must turn on activity tracking and the move alert .

Sitting for prolonged periods of time can trigger undesirable metabolic state changes. The move alert reminds you to keep moving. After one hour of inactivity, Move! and the move bar appear. The device also beeps if audible tones are turned on (Setting the Device Tones, page 26).

Go for a short walk (at least a couple of minutes) to reset

the move alert.

Hiding the Step Goal

You can hide the step goal from the screen.

TruSwing™

The TruSwing feature allows you to view swing metrics recorded from your TruSwing device. Go to Garmin.com/ golf to purchase a TruSwing device.

Viewing TruSwing Metrics on Your

Device

Before you can use the TruSwing feature on your Approach device, you must confirm your TruSwing device is securely mounted to your club. See the owner’s manual for your TruSwing device for more information.

1 Turn on your TruSwing device.

2 On your Approach device, select TruSwing from the

main menu.

3 Select a club. 4 Hit a shot.

Swing measurements display on your Approach device

after each swing.

5 Select UP or DOWN to move through the recorded

swing metrics.

Changing Clubs

1 From the TruSwing menu on your Approach device,

select OK.

Setting an Alarm

• To turn off the alarm, select Turn Off.

System Settings

From the main menu, select Settings.

Color Theme: Sets the color theme for the screen(Setting the Color Theme, page 25).

NOTE: You must connect to Garmin Connect Mobile to

receive software updates.

Setting the Color Theme

Setting Up Your User Profile

You can update your gender, birht year, height, and weight settings. The device uses this information to calculate accurate activity tracking setting.

Device Care

NOTICE

Avoid extreme shock and harsh treatment, because it can degrade the life of the product.

Avoid pressing the keys under water. Do not use a sharp object to clean the device. Avoid chemical cleaners, solvents, and insect repellents that can damage plastic components and finishes Thoroughly rinse the device with fresh water after exposure to chlorine, salt water, sunscreen, cosmetics, alcohol, or other harsh chemicals. Prolonged exposure to these substances can damage the case.

Cleaning the Device

測量擊球距離
