修復前の状態

札11秘；I犬態角を 1ヽ訊」に列記する。

・箪．笥仝I(iiに埃や汚れの付約が1菫かに見られた。

・箪．笥の l·.1(り付近に粘牙\テープの艇跡が認められた。

・索地接合部に浅い亀裂があった。年．『に、盗1人」 ,·~IS の;,:』 i に亀袋が進行していた。

• 他災の周訓では漆釦l如が剥 )).l!f していた。

・笥:~·-~Jの背面を除く外而、扉の内側とりl出し表1(旧こl化色派料が彫く旅られていに。

・背血、底1(1iとj)、」部の鍵金具および1JIき出し内外 i';:1sに見色硲料が旅布されていた。

・螺釧の後叫修似が広い1(1 j栢に認められ、螺釧が貼りなおされていた。

・螺釧の新補が各所にあり、鮒の悲叫や蝶具の111J見具が川いられていた。

・蒔絵や付枯'i き線が一部で剥落し、ド付漆が露出していた。

・後ill: 修後時の西洋迩料による加鉛が各所に懃められた。螺釧の欠祖部には銀色の旅料、螺釧ド祭())蘭絵線には金色や黄色迩料で線を忠き込んでいた。

・下段の桟が狂い、下段のりIき出し上部が桟下側の後世修似材料に付着· してしまつていた。

・鍵金具、隅金具に施された鍍金がすでになくなっていた。

・正而の鍵金具が緩み、 1 本の釘の頭が欠失していた。

5 . 1 . 4 .

_修復方針

修復方針は事前に東京文化財 i洲究所から提示を受けた。実際の修復にあたって再度検討を加えに後変更が生じた部分についてはその都度東京文化財研究所の担当者と修復者が協試して決定した。

次に、作品の修復方針を列記する。

・文化庁が指焉している文化財修復に準じて現状維持修復を基本とした。

• 西洋修復部分の除去は黄色塗料、後世に書き加えられた金色線や白色下地を対象とし、背面、底1(1i

内部に塗られた、'_l,l,色硲料は対象外とした。

・後111:修似除よにあたっては、オリジナルの硲jJ莫、 1/、'11 絵や金具に似働をりえないようなイ汁蔑浴剤を恨

軍に選んだ。

・欠祖した釘は新袖し、古色を付けることとした。

• ）点JI川からII 立っていた後仙の具や欠相した具の一部は、観箕を考｝恙して色合わせを行うこととした。

・クリーニングをするに際して、提令具と丸）Lを除く ll,'J~金具、鍵金具、蝶番は収り外し、修1u 後に取り付けることとした。

1N 外分光分析や幽光X線分析によって後Ill: 修似材料を特応し、後Ill:修似によって施された1研所を4守

定した。

5 . 1 . 5 .

_修復工程

(1)修似前調杏

1111幼；伏見旨と技法に関する II視による池l介を行い、現状を心録した。

初めに、紫外線ランプによる r1J11ij杏を行った。その結呆、表面に硲布された黄色硲料は濁った貨色に徴光したが、背而、内部や底而に冷られている、1且色派判や鍵金具は狐光しなかった。このことから貨色旅料はヨーロッパにおいて修似材料として川いられているシェラックやその他のレジンが旅布されていると考えられた。

黒色に飲られた背而を斜光で観察したところ、菱形の Iヽ・地の 1J姓亦が認められた。この結呆、背1(iiにも菱文の螺釧が加飾されていたものと判断出米た。制竹技法から螺釧衣1(1jは砥イiで1iHいで·'l':i'i'J·にな l が、大板や各面の周訓には広いI⁽¹i禾!'i にわたって螺釧表而が,,,:HJ·でなく、色合いが異なる部分が認めれた。このことから、背血の螺釧や涼lj俗した螺釧を後Ill:修似時に貼りなおしていることが分かった。

に、十数年前に行われた修似以愉の'11:真と比蚊して修1尉llil所を判断した。

素地は柏の板11 を使川し、木IIは1 『1(1iと両側 1(1jを蒻Uf 向、）く板と底板は札17)i 向に使川していることが分かった。各,JIき出しの奥に小さな薄板を接着·し、 ,JIき出し表1(旧こ段j唸ができないように11Jr'ij叫夜していた。その應i 板はその半数がすでに欠失していた。

(2) 修復IJ1j'り：兵

修似伯にカラ一'lj'.兵川デイライトランプと 1'1然光を使って竹：: _i11'i_仝休_と_{」出紘I犬態をデジタ}_）_レ'!/_具で記録した。次に紫外線浜光 '1/真を撮彩し、後JI!:修似の状態を出録した。徴光'1/真はプラックランプと紫外線カットのゼラチンフィルタ一を1史川し、デジタルで出録した。

(3) 溶剤テスト

後JI!:修仮の黄色硲料および金線を除去するための浴剤実験を 1/った。介機浴剤は削炸川エタノール、

無水エタノール、アセトン、酢酸エチルを使川した。貨色硲料は泊毒i

J I

Jエタノールや抑水エタノールでは表訓のみ溶け、アセトンおよび酢酸エチルではほとんど変化はなかった。また、金線はアセトンで筒叶1に除去できることが分かった。

(4) 分析

貨色硲料の憎IS をサンプリングし、赤外分光分析 (FT-IR) を行った。分析は束以文化財-fiJI:究所保ィー［修似科‘芹センターの111.川典 fが行った。その結呆、［化色旅料はシェラックであると判明しに。まに、批光 X 線分析を1^J^:しヽ、金属粉の材料や令jしの材質などを1lJ刈介した。この,l),',j介は束以文化財研究所保イr 修復科"/:センターの州川泰弘が qi·つに。その結呆、全線の f1·J漆には朱漆が川いらオしていた。まに捉金具、隅令具や鍵金具（外 1(1i) は銅製令鍍金、鍵令具災（内側）と鍵は鉄製であると分かっに。鍵金具内側にオリジナルの金属と異なる鉄が川いられていにことから、いつのIIが代かに鍵令具が収り換えられたと息われる。

(5) クリーニング

塗）l炭とn紺絵表而に付着した埃と汚れを僅かに水で湿らせた綿布で取り去った。 (6) 接愁テープ跡の除去

火板と右側而に付滸していた接着テープの判i 滸剤をアセトンで除去した。 (7) 金具の取り外し

1偶金具や鍵金具（外佃j) を取り外し、元の位附が分かるように発泡ウレタンに仮保管した。 (8) V 出羊塗料の除去

浴剤テストの結朱から梢約叫エタノールと無水エタノールを併用して黄色塗料を除去した。菱 ·' りも少し小さめに切った不織布に 11'1 野川エタノールを染み込ませて除去部に置き、塗料が膨潤するのをまつて鼈甲箆を川いて除去した。具上に描かれた付オi'i'i 線に偏みが及ばないようにするため、金 {(:)jlO 際は無水エタノールを綿布に付けて恨飢に塗料を除去した。励内恨ljの蒔絵部分も螺釧と同様に鼈甲箆匂llいて文様部分から禎正に除去した。オリジナルの金線の土に 2 柾類の塗科が野き加えられていに -とから、餌水エタノールを使川した後で酢酸エチルを使川して除去した。

(9) 螺釧の剥落止め

叫汗塗料除よ後に剥淵：していた螺釧に膠水浴液を含投し、木枠とヒゴで）」党した。膠はパールグ）レ一

（人 I□) 15% 水溶液を使川した。 (10) 分析

梢計J:Jljエタノールの除去時に菱文の線にす蘭き加えられていた黒色塾料が取れ、一部に允肌されてした白色卜地が；；塔出した。この白色 1、地は天板と）汀i 側而に少↓られ、見＜塾りなお

にも観寮できることから、後世修似の却具剤と考えた。

螺釧の間に允禎された下地材料と後批修複の螺釧の接着に川いられた接殆材のサンプ）レを収り、 FT-IR による材料分析を行った。その結呆、」••予'ii) の白色下地は炭酸カルシウム、ド部の晃色材料はノ'

― フィン、接着材料は酔酸ビニ）レであると分かった。 (11) 後lit修似の下地の除

螺釧の1飢間に充坦された下地を物迎的に除去した。下地の除去は竹箆を用いた。

後Ill:修似の接郊材の除去は螺釧を仝て取り外した状態でないと無迎なため、そのままとした。

(12) 漆固め

劣化した捌l莫と蒔絵剖5 分に透漆を川いて強化した。漆固めは、クリーンソ）レ G で希釈した 11:.^II・：味加と透漆を yJも合した漆を）廿い、余分な漆はリグロインで拭き収った。

(13) 亀裂や割れの補強

素地接合部の亀裂や割れ部分に調整した麦漆を部分的に含浸し、強化した。 (1'1) 漆塾）l羹の剥落止め

剥淵［した塗膜に麦漆を含浸し、木枠とヒゴを川いて圧愁した。 (15) 卜地欠損都の成形

下地が欠担した箇所に刻苧と下地で成形した。天板は 3 分の 2 以上が後世修復によって螺釧が貼りなおされており、菱文様が連続しないところがでるため、一部は螺釧の上に下地を僅かに被せて文様を間」I·—．した。

(16) 欠損旅膜の後冗

ド地充填部分に漆塗りと炭研ぎを繰り返し漆塗膜の色合いを合わせた。 (17) 釘の復元

勧んだ釘を復元した。復元には打たれていた真鍮製の釘に合わせて制作し、タンパン酢と呼ぶ硫酸銅、山位と食川酢を混合した溶液で古色を付けた。釘の制作は東京芸術大学の草野晃氏が担当した。

(18) 金共の間賂と取り付け

金具の歪みを筒拗的に嬌 II·: し、鍵金具、 ll1'J1金具や蝶番を元のイ釘；¹^,^:に取り付けた。釘穴にゆるい箇所は刻苧をあらかじめ却真し釘で金具を止めた。右蝶番の歪みが浙しく、翌保の1井l I茅lに間追が仕iることカ

取り付け位1府の ,,・地を除よすることで調整して取り付けた。 (19)螺釧の色鯛整

螺釧の色合わせにはパール粉（哀母粉）とパラロイド B72 キシレン浴液で具色を付け、アクリ）レ絵の具で彩度を沈めた。

(20) tl1iJ箱と外毅のイ4製

柿l糸f'i (横 45.6cm奥行 31.1cm 詞35.9cm) と糸廿の毅しヽを新調した。ホjiij糸f'i は落し蓋造りとし、丸穴のりI 千を付けたゲス板を作製した。外毅は羽二重を川い、前而左右の上下に紐を付けて取り外し劫い形状とした。

(21) 修復後の記録作製

修復後の写真撮影を行い、修似記録をまとめて報告内を 2部作成した。

I: J i 時代初期にヨーロッノぐなどへの愉，'I', 川に作られた漆悩の一つ。正 1(1iに跳ね 1~げ式の）~,i を付け、内に 3段 7 個のりI 出しを収めた隋笥で、このような箪笠は欧州では辿‘常、机のような背の，•,':jい台脚の 1一．．に叔せて飾りm:かれる。また、この形式の箪仔'jは、 '11II‑. 『米11 したスペイン人＾、・作の記録に「翡箪笥 (cscri lorios)」とあるものに相当するとみられる。 1炸lいた加が水‘ド位 i位でとまるように吊り、）じ米はその I·.で閃類を）ムげ、 1 杯きものをするのに川いられたという。

i 11-が代初期に米11 して漆悩を注文しにヨーロッパの人々が、束ジアヘがる過和で寄港した I·地であり、螺釧糸Ill 1: _が盛ん_で_、詞 _{じように螺釧で表}₁_(り_{を投いっくした} ₁_· 公， 1,i',が残されているためである。 11本では輸出川漆湘の情賄休訓が確 Iグ．し、螺釧や幾何学文様を多川した装飾が採川されるようになったとみられ、この箪笥もその時期の制作と考えられる。
