Spring is almost here! The weather is (hopefully) changing and lots of other things are changing too! I am a bit sad because I’ve met many people since I’ve been here and now I have to say goodbye to some of them.
To all the students moving: Thank you for being such great students, and making every day teaching, a fun one! Keep working hard, remember to be nice to everyone, and follow your dreams!!
To all teachers: You have been so welcoming towards me since I arrived and I can’t thank you enough for that. I’m so lucky to have worked with you, and I look forward to seeing you again soon!!
Warmly,
Carlos Andres Mancia

March is the time for a tearful farewell to teachers and students. In Australia, graduation ceremonies are held throughout the year. Elementary school graduation ceremonies are held in December, high school graduation ceremonies are held in September; and graduation ceremonies for university students are held in either June or November. My high school graduation ceremony was definitely one of the best memories of my life. On my (high school) graduation day, I wrote messages and drew pictures on my friends’ shirts and took photos together; and some of my friends gave me flowers.
This month, I have to say goodbye to my year 9 students. It is always hard to say goodbye. My dear year 9 students, I had a lot of fun teaching you all! Wishing you the best of luck in the future:)

Life must improve as it takes its course. Your youth you spend in preparation because the best
things are never in the past, but in the future.
I hope that you pursue life, and hold on to your hope and your dream until the very end of the
journey.

(^^♪ Hi everyone!
Here comes the end of the school year! Graduation ceremonies, farewell parties…
Since those events don’t exist in France, I have no significant memories about separations. On the last day of school, we would talk about the holidays, maybe exchange addresses, then just say good bye… Nevertheless I have other precious memories. About special friends, of course, but also about great teachers. Like that elementary school teacher with whom we had an exciting hour debate every Friday. Also, thanks to the math teacher who taught me slowly, my math level rose significantly. Or that English teacher who taught us new songs before every holidays…Many memories of unusual and good teachers come to my mind. I’ll never forget that thanks to them, I am the teacher I became. A little bit of each of them is in my heart.
How about you? What are your best school memories?
*my math level rose significantly: 数学のレベルがすごく(著しく)上がった
