Development of Austenitic Stainless Steel “RIVER LITE 315CX” for Hot Water Use

要旨 : 温水環境における耐SCC 性,耐孔食性および耐隙間腐食性に優れたオーステナイト系ステ ンレス鋼の開発を目的とし,Cu 含有オーステナイト系ステンレス鋼の耐食性に及ぼす成分 元素の影響について調査した。Cu の多量添加および Mo の低減が耐 SCC 性に有効である こと,またMn 含有量の低減と Si および Ni 添加量の増加は耐 SCC 性を低下させずに耐孔 食性および耐隙間腐食性を向上させることを明らかにし,温水用オーステナイト系ステン レス鋼R315CX(19Cr-12 Ni-2.8 Cu-0.5 Mo-1.8 Si-0.2Mn)を開発した。本開発鋼ほ温水 環境においてSUS316 より格段に優れた耐 SCC 性を示すとともに,耐孔食性および耐隙間 腐食性においても同等以上の特性を具備しており,給湯機缶体および温水配管等の用途に 適している。

Synopsis :

In order to develop an austenitic stainless steel with excellent resistance to stress corrosion, pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion in hot water environment, the effects of alloying elements on the corrosion resistance of Cu-bearing austenitic stainless steels were investigated. Addition of Cu and a decrease in Mo content improve the stress corrosion resistance. Reduction in Mn content and increases in Si and Ni contents are effective in improving the resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion without degradation of the stress corrosion resistance. On the basis of the multiple regression analysis of the experimental results, a new austenitic stainless steel "R315CX" (19Cr-12Ni-2.8Cu-0.5Mo-1.8Si-0.2Mn) has been developed. R315CX has excellent stress corrosion resistance markedly superior to that of SUS316 in hot water environment, and also has good pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. The newly developed steel is suitable for use in hot water apparatus.
