This Special Issue is devoted to selected papers from Dagstuhl Seminar 98301 on “Graph Algorithms and Applications,” which was held July 27–31, 1998 at Schloß Dagstuhl, Germany. This seminar promoted the collaboration be- tween computer scientists, mathematicians, and applied researchers, both from academia and industry. It was a follow-up of a seminar on the same topic held in 1996.
The five papers published in this special issue went through a rigorous re- view process according to the standards of the Journal of Graph Algorithms and Applications. We would like to express our gratitude to the referees, for their invaluable help, and to the authors, whose contributions made this issue possible.
