第 9 問 次の英文を読み,下の問い(問 1 ~ 3 )において,本文の内容に一致する最 も適当なものを,それぞれ下のa~dのうちから,一つずつ選べ。
If you live in a big city, you may find that it is better to use public transportation than to own a car. This is because trains and buses are cheaper and better for the environment than cars. First, owning a car is expensive. You must pay for the car, the fuel, repairs, and parking. When all the costs are added up, public transportation is almost always cheaper. Second, buses and trains use far less energy than cars.
This helps to keep the air clean. Although most cars use less fuel than buses, they often carry only one person. However, one bus can carry 75 people or more.
Energy use per person is much less for people who ride the bus. Therefore, if you want to save money and energy, public transportation is the way to go.
