NFPAでは、この勧告を受けて、関連規格（NFPA 37, NFPA 54, NFPA 58, NFPA85, NFPA 850）を改正する予定にしている。
ASMEへの勧告は、2012版のB31.1において、天然ガスのブローにより安全な燃料ガ ス配管のクリーニング方法による適切な変更を要求している。最低限、クリーニング又 はフラッシングの方法は、Paragraph 122.10で議論され、エアーブローとエアーによる
piggingのような可燃性ガスに対するより安全な代替方法を要求している。
この勧告を受けて、下表のようにNew Subparagraph (G)をParagraph 122.10に追加 する提案が行われた。現在、廃版となっているASME B31.2 “Fuel Gas Piping”の Appendix “Hot Taps, Purging and Clearing”の記載を参考として、再検討することとし た。
Insert New Subparagraph (G) for Paragraph 122.10 “Temporary Piping Systems”
(G) The temporary piping use for flushing or cleaning shall be properly vented when the fluid being flushed is considered hazardous or flammable. When venting hazardous or flammable fluids the natural topography and atmospheric conditions shall be taken into consideration. In case where flammable fluids are present in piping before and/or during the flushing, the piping shall be vented such that the flammable fluid may disperse without threat of ignition.
