以上の結果より、ハバノリ抽出物はNO産生およびTNF-α産生を抑制することでカラゲ ニン浮腫モデルマウスにおいて抗炎症作用を示すことが示唆された。これらの作用により カラゲニン浮腫のみならずその他の炎症に対する抑制作用も期待できる可能性を持ってい ると考えられる。用途としては、抗炎症剤としての医薬品開発や、機能性食品の成分とし ての利用などが考えられ、それら分野での社会貢献が期待できる。実際の応用に向けては 今後さらに、ハバノリ抽出物のNF-κBの活性化や核内移行への影響を調べ、詳しいメカニ ズムの解明を行うことが必要である。また、関与成分の単離・同定を行うため、さらに活 性フラクションの精製を行い、スペクトル分析により構造決定を行うことが必要である。
