Want to discover yourself and to improve your life in action

授業の目的

To discover leadership we can practice in everyday life in order to grow ourselves, understand the value of ourselves, and enrich our lives.

The lecturer will invite students to a journey of exploring their own concept of leadership in terms of enriching their lives through everyday activities and relationships with other people. The journey will open up them to some opportunities to re-examine the stereotypical notion of leadership that leadership only belongs to big figures and leaders holding high ranking positions. Further, it will help them comprehend a newly revitalized

notion of leadership and discover some dimensions of the leadership that they are able to practice in their everyday lives including workplace.

In this journey, they will search for a possibility of practicing leadership as they can in everyday life in order to sense our growth, understand the value of themselves, and enrich their lives. For embodying leadership in taking account of their respective life context, the lecture provides them with opportunities to learn some aspects of servant leadership and authentic leadership.

準備項目

4. Consciously build your idea of leadership throughout the semester.

履修目標

Students fully understand the fundamental notions of leadership learned in this course and application of the leadership notions for their real situations to improve the quality of their lives.

They have good understanding of themselves and realize leadership ability meaningful to their lives.

到達目標

Students will be able to operate the key concepts relevant to the leadership notions to some extent so that they can explain and discuss about the attendant issues and emerging problems on leadership practice in their real situations either in speaking or writing. In addition, they will be able to understand and discuss on the leadership issues through the professional articles.

授業方法

Their learning process will be offered through short lecture, collaborative-task-based activities and discussion, short presentation, short writing practice and dialogue based on their leadership experience between and among them.

成績評価の基準

Grades will be determined by the Rubric below. A percentage for each category in the Rubric will be determined by combination of the following items (a – e). a) Active and participation in discussion and collaborative activities; b) Homework; c) Two group-presentations; d) One role play, e) Final presentation (individual), and f) Final paper.
