科目の概要

Course Outline

This is a Japanese conversation training course offered to the Canadian exchange students who have applied for the Aichi Gakusen Capilano University Exchange Student Program. The students will be able to review and practice Japanese grammar and reinforce basic Japanese conversation skills by using the textbook and additional handouts given by the instructor. After the course, the students will be able to apply their skills to establish mutual communication.

② Practice nouns & postpositional particles

③ Practice verbs & auxiliary verbs

④ Practice adjectives & adjectival verbs

⑤ Practice adverbs & pronoun adjectives

① Can write & pronounce hiragana, katakana, & kanji properly

② Can utilize nouns & postpositional particles

Initiative

In language training, it is very important to practice independently with high motivation.

Each student should concentrate on improving Japanese grammar & pronunciation skills through supplementary training to gain confidence in speaking Japanese.

Ability to Influence Each student will be able to use Japanese as a communication tool for the purpose of influencing other people & culture in the globalized society.

Execution Skill Each student will act more aggressively to overcome anxiety of making mistakes when speaking in Japanese by gaining confidence through repetition practice.

Issues

Each student will be able to focus on what problems he/she has to deal with and understand what should be revised in order to develop a more effective way to speak Japanese through self-study & group work.

Planning Skill

In general, having to master a second language should expand the possibilities of the student’s future career. Each student should expect more opportunities and openings to come & make full use of their language skills to plan an advanced role in the workplace.

Creativity Each student will accomplish tasks which will enable him/her to cultivate creativity in his/her learning style.

・Making a short speech in Japanese [with time restriction]

Small presentation in Japanese regarding a specific topic will be made by the students in each lesson. Pronunciation, grammar & sentence structure will be evaluated synthetically. Average score will be calculated for evaluation.

到達レベル S（秀）及び A（優）の基準到達レベル B（良）及び C（可）の基準

Level A requires the students to use 800 Japanese words & have Proficient skills in listening, reading, writing & speaking.

In addition to Level A requirements, Level S requires the students to possess & perform Excellent skills in listening, reading, writing &

speaking.

Level B requires the students to use 600 Japanese words &

have Functional skills in listening, reading, writing & speaking.

Level C requires the students to have Basic skills in listening, reading, writing & speaking.
