日本 語 の 「お 互 い 」を 意 味 す る英 語 のeachothcrとoneanotherに つ い て,両 者 は 相 互 に 置 き換 え 可 能 と考 え られ て い る が,依 然 と してeachotherは2者 に つ い て, oneanotherは3者 以 上 につ い て用 い る と い う考 えが 根 強 く残 っ て い る ようで あ る。 こ の よ うな使 い 分 け は 果 た し て妥 当 な の で あ ろ うか.
い くつ か の 英 英 辞 典,英 和 辞 典,語 法 辞 典 の 順 に あ た り,ど の よ うに扱 っ て い る か を見 て い く。 そ し て,eachotherもoneanotherも 両 方 とも数 に 関係 な く用 い る こ と が で きる こ とを 確 認 した い.
