My name is Yumi. I am a junior high school student. In my school I study English and French. I like French very much. Last year I went to France and studied French for one week. I met a French girl named Judy at school and we became goods. She is 15 years old.

Last month Judy came to Japan from France and stayed with my family for two weeks. She wanted to learn about Japan.

My family has a cute dog. His name is Lucky. He is 3 years old.

One Sunday morning, Judy, my Mom and I walked with Lucky near our house. We walked for about one hour. I said, “I’m tired and hungry. I can see a restaurant over there. Let’s eat lunch there.” My Mom said, “We are with Lucky. We cannot go into the restaurant with a dog. Then Judy said,

“That’s interesting! In France we can usually go into a restaurant with our dogs.”

Three of us went into a restaurant and ate lunch there. Lucky was waiting outside the restaurant. Poor Lucky! We gave him a big lunch at home.

In the evening Judy and I talked about the differences* between France and Japan. We learned a lot about these each other’s countries.

I want to go back to France and study French and French culture in the future.
