This label expires and must not be distributed or used in accordance with this SLN registration after December 31, 2023.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

It is a violation of federal law to use this product in a manner inconsis- tent with its labeling. Always read this FIFRA Special Local Need Labeling and the entire label on the product container before using this product.

DuPontTM VYDATE® L Insecticide/Nematicide is recommended for use on dry bulb onions to control stubby root nematodes and onion thrips in Wisconsin.

It is a violation of federal law to harm an endangered species. Use of this product may be in counties which have endangered and threatened species present; therefore, applicators should evaluate the areas to be treated and take necessary precautions to avoid harming endangered species or their habitat/environment. Growers who are uncertain of the pres-ence of a protected species should contact The Wisconsin Departmentof Agriculture, Trade & Consumer Protection at 608-224-4547.

APPLICATION Onion Thrips

Apply by ground or air at 1 to 2 pt/A in at least 5 gal water/A when insects appear in significant numbers. Repeat applications at 5 to 7 day intervals as necessary. For light infestations, use a low rate, increasing the rate as the infestation increases.

Stubby Root Nematodes In-Furrow Drench Treatment

Apply 3/4 to 1 gal. of VYDATE® L per acre at planting as an in- furrow drench using 100 to 150 gals. of water per acre.

ORIn-Furrow Band Spray Treatment:

Apply 1 1/2 to 2 gals. per acre at planting as an in-furrow band spray using 20 to 50 gals. of water per acre.

ORIn-Furrow Spray followed by postemergence band Treatments:

Apply 1/2 to 1 gal/A at planting as an in furrow spray followed by 1 to 2 postemergence band treatments at 1/2 to 1 gal/A in a minimum of 20 gal water per acre. Postemergence applications should be made at flag leaf and 14 to 21 days later.

Water or incorporation is required to move VYDATE® L into the root zone. For best results, the postemergence applications should be followed by overhead irrigation (1/2 to 1 acre inch) immediately following application.

NOTE: Do not harvest tops of treated bulb onions.

Do not apply within 14 days of harvest.

Do not use on green onions.

Do not apply more than 18 pts (2 1/4 gals) VYDATE® L per acre per season.

Do not apply more than 8 applications of VYDATE® L per acre per growing season.

When making an application to dry bulb onions, do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system.

Soil applications must be incorporated into soil by water or mechanical means.
