On Coral Conservation and Economic Efficiency
in the case of Wakayama Prefecture

Abstract
In order to activate economic potentiality in Wakayama Prefecture, one of the best ways is to use the abundant tourist resources. The Kushimoto Coral Communities, designated as protected wetlands by the Ramsar Convention, are home to numerous species of coral and waterfowl. Focused on Kushimoto and corals, this paper discusses coral conservation and economic efficiency.
