研 究 所 の あゆみ
本研 究所 は、文化庁 の前 身 、文化財保護 委 員会 の付属機 関 として発足 した。 その後 、平城 宮跡 の保 存が問題 になったの を契機 として平城 宮跡 発掘調査部 が発足 し、10年後 、飛鳥藤原 宮跡発掘調査部 が発足 した。19 70(昭 和45)年、国 は、飛鳥保 存問題 を政 策 の ひ とつ として取 り上 げ、閣 議 決定 に基 いて飛鳥資料館 が開館 した。 また 、都道府県教 育長会 の要 請 が動機 となって 、埋蔵 文化財 セ ンターが設 け られた。

This institute started as an auxilary organization of the nation‐
al government's National Commission for Protection of CulturaI Prop‐
erties.
in 1963, problems related to the protection of the Heijo Palace (Nara imperiaI Palace)Site necessitated the inception of the Div. of Heijo Palace Site investigations. Ten years tater, the Div. of Asuka and Fuliwara Palace Sites investigations was established in a partial responce to the government's ploicy to protect cultural protperties in the Asuka area. The Asuka Historical Museum also opened to public for the same reason. In order to respond to the demand of local au‐
thorities in charge of rescue excavationsi the Centre fo「 Archaeologi"
ca1 0perations was estabHshed to train local excavators and give ad‐
vices to these local authorities.
蓄 及 活 動 と蔵 書
飛鳥 資料館・ 平城 宮跡 資料館 。同遺構 展示館・ 飛鳥藤原 宮跡発掘調査 部 の展示 室 を公 開 して い る。春・ 秋 に公 開講演会 をお こない、飛鳥 資料 館 は、企 画展示 関連 の講演会 をお こなって い る。両発 掘調査部 は発 掘調 査 の成果 を現地 説明会 で発 表 して い る。刊行物 には、学報 。史料・飛鳥資 料館 図録・基準資料・午報・埋蔵 文化財ニュース と地図 が あ る。1991年

Activities and Research Collections
The Asuka HistoHcal Museum, Heijo Palace Site Museum,

The institute also holds public lectures in spring and autumn every year.、 The Asuka Historical Museunl, in addition, holds public iectures related to the themes of special exhibitions, Both of the Divisions of the Heijo Palace Site and
