本論文は、間欠的な屋根散水によるパッシブクーリングに関する数値モデルの構築とシミュレーシ ョンツールの開発を行った上で、系統的な数値実験及び実作によりインドのローコスト住宅におけ る屋根散水の導入可能性を明らかにしたものであり、建築環境工学分野の進展に寄与するところが 大きく、価値ある業績であると認める。以上より、本論文は博士（工学）の学位論文に値するもの と認められる。
