A Study of the Nurse's Motivation

Abstract

This paper deals with the work motivation of nurses'. Today the luck of nurses is a serious problem in Japan. One reason of the insufficient number of nurses comes from the fact that quite a lot of them give up their occupa­ tion because of poor working condition, such as low wages, long working hours, human relation, etc. In this paper, we understand this tendency as the problem of work motivation. We analyze this problem using the ques­ tionnaires of 482 nurses from 6 hospitals and the society of nurse in Japan and propose the plan to increase the number of nurses and to maintain their position much longer without giving it up.
