九州大学大学院言語文化研究院 准教授（英語担当）の公募

Job Announcement for Associate Professor Position
Number of Vacancies: One Position for Associate Professor
Affiliation: The Faculty of Languages and Cultures (FLC), Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan
Job Description:
1) Teaching duties: Teaching eight 90-minute EFL (English as a Foreign Language) classes per week
primarily to undergraduate students. Participation in an international program might also be requested. All classes must be conducted in English.
2) Other duties: Maintaining regular office hours, providing editorial assistance, helping to develop teaching
materials, and assisting with other departmental matters.
Start of Appointment: 1st October 2015 (non-negotiable)
Term of Employment: Two and a half years until 31st March 2018 Required Qualifications:
1) All candidates should either be a native-English speaker or possess native level fluency. 2) Specialization in TEFL/TESOL, linguistics, communication, literature, or other related areas 3) PhD or equivalent research record in a relevant field (ABD candidates are also eligible.) 4) Previous experience of teaching English at the university level
5) Ability to teach Academic Writing
6) Japanese ability is an advantage; however, it is not a requirement.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications, age and experience. Allowances for housing, dependents, and
retirement are not provided. There is no pay raise, either.

Selection Process: After the first stage of reviewing the application materials, shortlisted candidates will be
invited for an interview (either in person or via skype). Details of the interview will be provided to the candidates in advance. No travel expenses for the interview will be borne by Kyushu University. After the final selection has been made, applicants will be informed of the result via email.
