Low-Temperature Regeneration System
of the Rotary NMP Concentrator
Masayuki Kawaoka · Takahiro Akiyama· Hideto Takahashi· Hitoshi Inaba ABSTRACT
For the purpose of reducing energy of NMP (N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone) recovery systems which are used in lithium-ion battery manufacturing plants, we have studied performance of a rotary concentrator that works with regenerating adsorbent rotor at lower temperature than those currently in use. When the rotor regeneration is made at 80 and 70 deg C, the concentrator has a removal efficiency more than 95% that is same performance as usual at 130 deg C. According to our trial calculation for a model NMP recovery system, utilization of outside waste heat for regeneration will reduce annual
C02 emission 18% in comparison with conventional recovery system.
