並列計算と脳スキャン技術の高度化は、やがて個体の脳を複製可能にするかもしれない。その場合、問題になるのは 「意識」や「一人称の自己」の「引っ越し可能性」だろう。バックアップに「私」は移動できるのか？できないなら、「双 子」との違いはあるか？あるいは移動後に、元の脳を破壊した場合は？このような問いを「工学的心身問題」と捉え、本 講演では、現時点でいえること、現在および未来に与える社会的影響を考察する。
