A METHOD FOR PREDICTING INDOOR ENVIRONMENT OF EM-WAVE
BESED ON EXPERIMENTAL DATA OF INTERIOR REFLECTION/TRANSMISSION

In this report, a method for predicting indoor environment of EM-wave by geometrical optics approach is introduced. Indoor propagations of EM-wave form complex path of propagation due to reflection from a floor, a ceiling, walls, and surrounding fixture and furniture. Hence, these reflection and transmission characteristics need to be input to simulation precisely for predicting indoor environment properly. At first, a modeling method, based on measured data of interior reflection and transmission characteristics, was proposed. Next, environment of indoor Wireless LAN was predicted, at a room in Institute of Technology as an example, to demonstrate validity of the method. As a result, the average deviation of simulated results, on the basis of measurement results, was up to 6.06dB.
