さらなるグローバルな自由応募へ。SFC AO 入試 2020 慶應義塾大学 総合政策学部長 河添 健 環境情報学部長 濱田 庸子 未来を創る先導者－未来からの留学生－のために，より自由で開かれた入試へ。 2020 年，SFC の AO 入試は，出願資格・入学時期の制約を緩和し，グローバルな制度へ前進します。 グローバルな制度への前進 応募のチャンスが年間 4 回ある「入試の通年実施」ヘ 4 月入学か，9 月入学かを自由に選択できる「入学時期の自由選択制」ヘ ※ なお，入試実施時期や審査方法は従来と変更ありません。 総合政策学部，環境情報学部は 1990 年の学部創設以来，学力による一般入学試験に加えて，多面的・ 総合的に入学生を評価する「アドミッションズ･オフィスによる自由応募入試」（AO 入試）を実施し てきた，AO 入試のパイオニアです。 加速度的に変化しつつある社会の諸問題に取り組むために，一つの学問領域にとどまらず，幅広い視 点から問題を発見して解決方法を探ることができ，創造性を発揮できる人材の育成を SFC ではディ プロマポリシーとしています。そのために，「実践知」を理念とし，プロジェクトへの参加を主体と した能動的な教育課程を編成しています（カリキュラムポリシー）。その観点から，学力による一般 入学試験では評価できない能力，個性，バイタリティを多面的・総合的に評価する AO 入試は，まさ に SFC にふさわしい入試システムであると自負しています。 未来を創る先導者を育てるには，世界に開かれたキャンパスでなくてはなりません。世界から未来を 創る先導者が SFC に集まり，そして世界を動かす。そのために SFC ではさらにキャンパスのグローバ ル化を加速させます。その第一歩として，SFC は AO 入試を世界基準に。入試の通年実施と入学時期 の自由選択制を導入して，より自由で開かれた入試にします。 セメスター制を実施している SFC では，入学時期は 4 月と 9 月の 2 回あり，同様に卒業も 3 月と 9 月 の 2 回あります。従来は，4 月入学と 9 月入学それぞれ別々に募集し試験を実施してきましたが， 2020 年からはその区別を撤廃し，年 4 回実施する AO 入試にはいつでも応募が可能であり，入学時期 を 1 年以内の 4 月にするか 9 月にするかを，入学者自らが選択できるようにします。 これにより，海外の高校や国内インターナショナルスクールの卒業生が受験しやすくなります。また すべての入学者が自分の時間を自由に設計できるようになります。たとえば，高校卒業から大学入学 までの時間（ギャップターム）を留学，インターン，フィールドワークなどに使うことができます。 すでにニューヨーク学院卒業生に入学前に先取りで履修できる制度を実施していますが，ギャップ タームの間の学びに対する支援や制度をますます拡充して参ります。このような多様な経験をした 学生がキャンパスに集い，相互に影響を与え合うことにより，新たな視点や発想が生まれ，キャンパ スが活性化することを期待しています。 また入学時期を選択できるようにすることで，卒業後の海外大学院への進学にも，柔軟に対応できま す。さらに，優れた成果を挙げたと学部が認めた学生が 3.5 年で卒業できる制度や，学部と大学院政 策・メディア研究科修士の 2 つの学位が 4 年間で取得できる「学部・大学院修士 4 年一貫教育プログ ラム」を活用することで，卒業後の進路の幅はさらに広がります。より自由で開かれた入試が，新た に迎える「未来を創る先導者」の可能性を広げることを期待しています。

１ 趣旨と概要

2021 年度入学者のための AO 入試について
入学者選抜の名称は，今後も「アドミッションズ・オフィスによる自由応募入試（AO 入試）」と します。 今後もAO 入試を，年 4 回，実施します。2020 年度実施（2021 年度以降入学）の AO 入試を，2020 夏 AO，2020 秋 AO，2020 冬 AO（グ ローバル），2021 春 AO と呼称することにします。

2021 年度入学者のための AO 入試の詳細について
より全世界の多様な学生の出願を受け入れるため，以下のようにしていく予定です。この変更により， 国内外問わず誰でも年4 回すべての AO 入試に応募する道が開けます。 AO 入試 3 回について ① 日英併記した入学試験募集要項を公開します。 ② 2 次選考に面接試験を行います。 志願者は，面接試験を「日本語」・「英語」・「どちらでも可」の３択から選択することが可能 となります。 ③ 出願方式（A・B・C・IB）は廃止します。 AO（グローバル）について SAT，ACT，IB，GCE-A レベルのいずれかと，TOEFL スコア等の両方の提出を条件に，全世界 の学生の出願を可能にする予定です。ただし，これまで同様資格試験が受けられない国・地域か らの受験生に対しては配慮する予定です。 4 回の AO 入試共通 出願に必要なもの（web 入力するもの，郵送で提出する書類）について，大きな変更は予定して おりませんが，決定し次第，2018 年度中を目処に公表する予定です。４ 今後の予定について

SFC AO Screening 2020: Changes to a more flexible and global admissions system.
Admissions will become more flexible to create the leaders of the future. In 2020, AO Screening at SFC will adopt a global system by loosening the application requirements and diversifying admission periods.
Changes to a global system
Year-round screenings: you can apply anytime in a year during four application periods. You may choose either April or September admission.
* No changes will be made to the time and method of the screenings.
Since the creation of the Faculty of Policy Management and the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies in 1990, SFC has heavily employed and advanced AO Screening in addition to the general entrance examination. Whereas general entrance examinations are based solely on one’s academic performance, AO Screening comprehensively evaluates applicants on multiple levels.
SFC’s mission is to produce creative individuals who can identify and solve problems in our rapidly changing society by using a broad perspective through a cross-disciplinary approach. To do this, we value practical knowledge above all else and place project participation at the center of our hands-on curriculum. In this way, AO Screening is integral to SFC because it allows us to holistically evaluate applicants on the knowledge, unique aspects, and liveliness that general entrance examinations cannot.
Our campus must be open to the world to create leaders of the future. Individuals from all over the globe gather at SFC to create positive change in the world, and we continue to pursue globalization to facilitate this. The first step is for AO Screening at SFC to meet the world standard, so SFC will offer screenings year-round and give applicants the freedom to choose either April or September admission.
As SFC operates on a semester system, admission takes place twice a year in April and September, and graduation twice a year in March and September. Previously, application and screening for April and September admission had been separate, but starting in 2020, one will be able to apply at any time in one of the four AO screening periods and choose either April or September admission.
This will make it easier for those from high schools outside Japan or international schools within Japan to apply. It will also give admitted students the ability to choose how to use their time. For example, high school graduates will be able to use the time between graduation and admission (gap term) for things such as study abroad, internships, or fieldwork. There is already a system in place that allows graduates from the Keio Academy of New York to take courses at SFC prior to their first semester and we will extend this system to help all admitted students use this gap term for educational purposes. We expect that students who take these kinds of opportunities will gather at the university so that they may influence one another, create new points of view, and enliven the campus.
Allowing students to choose their time of admission will make it easier for them to get into graduate schools overseas. Furthermore, students with superior grades can expand their options by taking part in the 3.5 Year Early Gradation system or the Four-year Integrated Master’s/Bachelor’s program, which allows students to earn both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in 4 years. I am sure that this more flexible admissions system will provide more opportunities to the leaders of the future.

2. AO Screening for Admissions in Academic Year 2021
1) The name of the applicant screening method will remain AO Screening. 2) It will continue to be held four times a year.
3) AO Screenings in Academic Year 2020 or after (for those enrolling in Academic Year 2021 or after) will be named Summer AO 2020, Fall AO 2020, Winter AO 2020 (Global), and Spring AO 2021.
4) Summer AO 2020, Fall AO 2020, and Spring AO 2021 (hereinafter “the three AO Screenings”) will be held at the same time that April enrollment through AO Screening (application period I), April enrollment through AO Screening
(application period II), and September enrollment through AO Screening were held in the past, respectively.
5) Winter AO 2020 (Global) (hereinafter “AO Global”) will be held at the same time that the Admissions for Overseas Students (GIGA Program) screening was held in the past.
6) These changes make it possible for applicants to choose their enrollment period for either April (Spring Semester) or September (Fall Semester) at the time of
application.
However, applicants who do not have enough Japanese ability to understand the classes are recommended to enroll in September (Fall Semester).
Third year students who are expected to graduate from high school under the Japanese education system (hereinafter “high schools in Japan”) in March 2022 cannot apply for Spring AO 2021.

3. Details on AO Screening for admission in Academic Year 2021
The following changes will be made to AO Screening so that diverse students from all over the world can apply. These changes will make it possible to apply at any of the four application periods offered during the year.
1) Details on the Three AO Screenings
① The Application Guidebook will be written in both Japanese and English. ② An interview will be held for the second round selection.
Applicants can choose “Japanese,” “English,” or “either” for the language. ③ Application methods (A/B/C/IB) will no longer be used.
2) AO Global
Students from all over the world including ones from high schools in Japan will be eligible to apply through AO Global if they submit one of the following
Standardized Test scores (SAT, ACT, IB, or GCE-A levels) and a certificate of an official TOEFL score or other English language proficiency test. If applicants live in countries or regions where those tests are not available, it will be taken into consideration in the same manner as before.

There will be no major changes to the documents required to complete the application (either online or by mail) and the details will be announced in Academic Year 2018 as soon as they become available.
4. Future plans
The application methods (A/B/C/IB) used in the three AO Screenings will no longer be used, but the listed contests and required results for exemption from the first round evaluation in C will continue to be used. The details will be announced in Academic Year 2018.
The application process and basic requirements for applicants who graduated from high school outside Japan / international schools within Japan will not be changed for AO Global / Admissions for Overseas Students (GIGA Program). Applications will be accepted from students from high schools in Japan in accordance with the conditions above.
