The Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council promotes and funds research and development in our region, encouraging cooperation between private and public organizations. Minnesota long has been a leading soybean-producing region. Our family farmers care deeply about the quality, purity and safety of the soybeans they grow.

All of our food-grade soybean growers have made a commitment to you. That responsibility involves selecting the right seed varieties, using proper farming methods during the growing season, and maintaining strict identity preservation controls when harvesting and delivering their crop. If organic soybeans are desired, our farmers will take the added measures to ensure those soybeans meet all necessary organic standards and certifications.

Minnesota is a leading exporter of food-grade and commodity soybeans. The challenge is to ensure integrity of the food-grade soybeans – from the farmer to the buyer. The solidarity of the system starts with the contract to grow specific soybeans and involves seed suppliers, farmers, processors and transportation companies. Minnesota Crop Improvement Association (MCIA) can provide independent certification and other quality assurance programs to ensure purity through segregation of food-grade soybeans at each step.
