Class Learning Objectives for Bilingual Sessions
The target audience of Bilingual classes are families and students who have limited or no Chinese learning
at home. Students must be four years old to start Bilingual Kindergarten. Parent in-class participation is
welcome for Kindergarten class. As another way to help their kids' Chinese study, parents are also
encouraged to take the MHCS Bilingual course designed for the adults. Parental assistance for homework
is critical to the success of the students' learning experience.
To increase the exposure to the Chinese language, teachers will use Chinese for words, phrases, and
sentences that were previously introduced in the class. Teachers will always use Chinese to refer to
the phrases that are frequently used in the classroom setting. Thus, instead of saying "What's this? ",
"Repeat after me!", and "Way to go!" She will say " 這是什麼 ?" , " 跟著我唸 !" , and " 好極了 !"
Chinese culture will be introduced to each level, especially the festivals (Teacher's Day, Mid-Autumn
Festival, Chinese new Year, Dragon Boat Festival, Etc.) will be taught at due time.
