The Fuchu International Exchange Salon conducts various activities that deepen friendly ties between Japanese and non-Japanese residents who live in Fuchu City so that everyone can enjoy his/her daily life.
If you have any questions or problems concerning everyday life, please
feel free to ask for advice. In addition, there are multilingual publications containing
information on everyday life.

Local volunteers help foreign residents learn Japanese. Although there is no fee, it is recommended that you purchase the same textbook used by the class for your own use. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis at the Fuchu International Exchange Salon office.

Student volunteers from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies help tutor elementary and junior high school students who live in Fuchu and are having difficulty keeping up with their classes due to a lack of Japanese communication skill.

Note: The day of the week and time of day are subject to change, depending on the program. Participants talk about various subjects, such as shopping and everyday customs, as part of the cultural exchange. Topics include descriptions of food in their home countries and Japanese flower arrangement.
