Japanese and Americans
There are many similarities and differences between Americans and Japanese, more than can be explained in a brief paragraph. However, I would like to mention a few of them. One of the most important differences is in their level of self-assertion. Japanese, in general, tend to follow the opinions of most of the people in the group. It is difficult for them to speak up if they disagree. Americans, in contrast, are more likely to express their own opinions. In fact, they consider it an interesting and important part of social interaction to discuss differences of opinions. Americans might feel that it is boring if everyone agrees. Another difference is in their views of the future and the amount of control that they have over it. Americans tend to be optimistic and Japanese fatalistic.
