This strategy coordinates IT policy introduction and program follow-ups, etc. in various fields in the prefecture. It also promotes the responses to the advancement of the information age in a comprehensive and strategic manner.
Shimane Prefecture
•Shimane IT Strategy
As a result of infrastructure work led by private companies since 2002 aiming at providing FTTH to all households in the prefecture, ultra high speed communication services using FTTH and other means are available to 99.7% of the households as of the end of 2014. In the future, we will promote the use of IT in various fields such as industry, medical care, welfare, lifestyle, and education utilizing this infrastructure.
Okayama Prefecture
•IT Plans in Okayama Prefecture The Okayama Information Highway
Concept, has been carried out since 1996 and a prefecture-wide high-integrity high-speed data link, which acts like and endless figure-eight circulating loop, has been constructed.
Beginning in April 1999, the core communication lines were opened to the public for free and they were connected to all cities and towns in the prefecture in FY 2002 . In addition to the introduction of IPv6 to the core network, a high‒speed/large capacity network, up to 10Gbps, was achieved in 2003 fiscal year. We will encourage the prefectural residents to utilize IT in their current fields to take full advantage of this infrastructure.
Hiroshima Prefecture

Utilizing the telecommunications infrastructure that covers nearly the entire prefecture, we are promoting the use of a broad range of ICT in many different areas including health care, welfare, disaster prevention, and tourism.
Yamaguchi Prefecture
We are promoting high-speed low-cost internet environments and maintenance of the
telecommunications infrastructure.

島根県・島根県地域情報化戦略
民間主体により全県下でFTTHを 実現することを目標とし、2002年 度から基盤整備を推進した結果、
2014年度末で県内の99.7％の世 帯が、光ファイバー等による超高速 通信サービスの利用が可能となっ た。今後、この基盤を生かし、産業、
医療、福祉、生活、教育など多様な 分野でITの利活用を促進する。
岡山県・岡山県の情報化施策
1996年から「岡山情報ハイウェイ 構想」を進め、県内を8の字状に巡 る信頼性の高い高速通信回線を構 築。1999年4月から、その基幹回線 を一般に無料開放し、2002年度に は県内のすべての市町村と接続。
2003年度には、IPv6を基幹回線網 に導入するとともに、最大10Gbps の高速大容量ネットワーク化を実 現。こうした基盤を生かし、県民に 身近な分野でのITの利活用を進め る。

Subsidy for Local Public Network Reinforcement To reinforce the information communication infrastructure in the region, this plan provides support for the construction of Wi-Fi stations for distributing information including tourism and disaster prevention information, broadcast networks for playing an important role in a disaster, and telecommunication networks connecting to the main public institutions in the region.
地域公共ネットワーク等強じん化事業 費補助金地域における情報通信基盤の強じん 化を図るため、観光・防災情報等を配 信するWi-Fiステーションや、災害発 生時に重要な役割を果たす放送ネッ トワークおよび地域の主な公共機関 等をつなぐ電気通信ネットワークを整 備する場合に支援する。
Construction of Facilities for Mobile Communications
This plan provides support for the construction of base station facilities (tower, radio equipment, etc.) and transmission line (FTTH, etc.) facilities in areas where mobile telephone service or the like is difficult due to geographical conditions or conventional economic feasibility.
携帯電話等エリア整備事業 地理的な条件や事業採算上の問題 により携帯電話等を利用することが 困難な地域において、基地局施設（鉄 塔、無線設備等）や伝送路施設（光フ ァイバ等）を整備する場合に支援す る。
Subsidy for Enhancement of Information Communication Environment
This plan provides support for the construction of high-speed broadband for cities, towns, and villages in areas with weak geographical conditions.
