limitations, we developed the MRE technique of simultaneous acquisition of psoas major and erector spinae muscles.
7.5. Conclusion
We demonstrated that our MRE technique can simultaneously yield stiffness of psoas major and erector spinae muscles using a conventional MRI scanner. The AP 45° MEG-like effect direction at 50 Hz vibration frequency, incorporating directional filter in image processing can obtain clear shear wave displacement maps and stiffness values in both muscles simultaneously. This technique may provide significant insights of both muscles relating to low back pain at the same time.
