SUMMARY

This paper describes the reformation process of study abroad programs in Seisen Jogakuin College. The reformation started in 2013 and completed in 2016 with six study abroad programs. Deardroff Pyramid Model of Intercultural Competence (Deardroff, 2006) was used as a basic concept of the programs. This model proposes that attitude, knowledge and skills are the essential elements of intercultural competence. After the reformation, the new study abroad program consists of three parts: pre-training, study abroad and post-training. Pre-training sessions focus on acquiring intercultural communication skills and knowledge on the target culture. Post-training includes reflection of the program and individual presentation on accomplishment through the oversea experience.
