Robert Parker has called DeLille Cellars the “Lafite Rothschild of Washington State.” It is no coincidence that
this boutique winery is often compared with First-Growth Bordeaux Chateaux. DeLille Cellars is dedicated to
handcrafting elegant wines in the Bordeaux style, using only the very finest hand sorted grape clusters to make
their wine. These sophisticated wines are made to uncompromising standards of quality. All of the wines are
aged in new French oak and are bottled unfiltered. Winemaker Chris Upchurch talks in terms of ‘complete
wine’, with qualities like opulence, mouthfeel, balance and elegance. Chris’ goal is simple: to blend the very best
hand-crafted, Bordeaux style red and white wines made in the state of Washington. A s a testament to his
success, DeLille set the record for the highest price paid for a bottle of Washington State wine at auction

The third winery to be established in the Walla Walla Valley, L’Ecole No 41 has been a leader in the production
of premium handcrafted varietal wines in Washington State since 1983. The family owned winery is located
in an old schoolhouse built in 1915 in historic Frenchtown, just west of Walla Walla. The name - L’Ecole No 41,
French for “the school located in district number 41”, was chosen to salute the pioneering viticultural efforts
of the French-Canadians who settled the area. L’Ecole is one of the most recognized and acclaimed wineries
in Washington State, having been honored by Wine & Spirits Magazine as Winery of the Year for 13
consecu-tive years; and in 2014 winning the prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards International Trophy for ‘Best
in Show, Red Bordeaux Varietals over £15’ for their 2011 Ferguson Vineyard bottling. The winery is however
perhaps best known for being one of the top American producers of Merlot and Semillon.

Owner and winemaker Rick Small’s family has been farming the same land where Woodward Canyon’s
vine-yards now lie for three generations. Rick first planted vinevine-yards here in the late 1970’s, and Woodward Canyon
was the second winery to be established in the Walla Walla appellation in 1981, after Leonetti. With deep
roots in the land, Rick Small is one of a handful of the Washington wine industry’s ‘elder statesmen’ that have
devoted their lives to producing some of the world’s finest wines in Washington. Woodward Canyon wines
express the passion and intensity of Rick Small’s devotion to his work - he personally oversees the crafting
of each of his wines from vine to bottle. Painstaking effort is taken in each step of the winemaking process,
from canopy and irrigation management in the vineyard to ageing oak in order to make his own barrels at the
winery. Rick’s vision for his wine has always been quality over quantity, and his enduring reputation as one of
Washington’s finest winemakers is testament to his success. Woodward Canyon wines are never fined nor
fil-tered and are always expertly handcrafted. Rick Small’s intimate knowledge of the land and passion for quality
can be tasted in every glass.
