(1)Journal of Information Processing Vol.21 No.1 99 (Jan. 2013) [DOI: 10.2197/ipsjjip.21.99]. Editor’s Message to Special Issue on Collaboration Technologies and Network Services that Enrich and Secure Our Society Atsuo Hazeyama1,a) In recent years, by rapid popularization of mobile terminals such as smart phones into our lives, new types of collaborative systems and network services have emerged. Popularization of mobile terminals brought new types of problems such as security and privacy. In the Great East Japan Earthquake, information and communication technologies (ICT) such as the Internet, twitter, and so on played a great role for information sharing. On the other hand, the great disaster brought up new challenges for ICT research and development. Based on the background, it is required that research and development is promoted for constructing collaboration systems and network services to enrich and secure various scenes such as our society/community, daily life, business, education/learning, and so on. In this special issue, the editorial committee of the journal was seeking paper submissions on collaboration technologies and network services that enrich and/or secure our society. Topics covered a wide range of issues associated with collaboration, ubiquitous computing, social computing, information and knowledge sharing, education/learning, network services for disaster prevention/reduction, medical treatment, social security, secure network services, and communication theories and technologies. Thirty-one papers were submitted to this issue. The first editorial committee meeting was held April 2012. In this meeting, whether each paper conformed to the topics of this issue was discussed. As the result, thirty papers started the review process. The second editorial committee meeting was held June 2012 and the final editorial committee meeting was held October 2012. After careful discussions, fourteen papers were accepted for publication (the acceptance rate was 47%). This special issue includes the following topics that deal with collaboration technologies and network services that enrich and secure our society: social computing systems and characteristic analysis of communications exchanged in a social computing system, knowledge transfer support in organizations, support of security measures, electronic triage training system, multilingual communication support, codining support, methodology for avoiding speech contention in web conferences, a positioning method of indoor pedestrian, and education support on the cloud computing. A number of interesting papers were found although they were 1 2 a) b). Koji Tsukada2,b) not accepted in this issue. Therefore the editorial committee wishes the authors of the papers to resubmit their work. Finally we would like to thank the editorial committee members, reviewers and secretariats of IPSJ for their endeavors to publish this issue. Surprisingly, such an analysis enables us to verify the simplicial ap- proximation property of X (cf. This shows that the original approach of Schauder is “correctable.” As it

Here we shall supply proofs for the estimates of some relevant arithmetic functions that are well-known in the number field case but not necessarily so in our function field case..

Our proof of this motivates studying algebraic properties of the permutation π α, n (where α is any irrational and n is any positive integer) that orders the fractional parts {α}, {
