On behalf of the organisation committee of the seventeenth world congress for orthopaedic shoe technicians, and on behalf of your Dutch colleagues, I warmly welcome you to The Hague. This city is home to Eurojust and Europol, as well as all eminent International Tribunals; here you will find both modern architecture and typical Dutch canals, here you can look out over the sea. The Hague offers a perfect setting for a festive conference. The conference programme is both varied and intriguing. It will bring you up to date on the latest developments in your discipline in a manner that will grab the attention of both technicians and managers. The trade floor offers a comprehensive view of what is available for and from our industry. Complementary items include a festive evening in Madurodam – a miniature city in which the most important buildings of the Netherlands are replicated at scale 1:25 – and a company visit on Saturday.
The programme and the ambiance will make IVO 2009 conference a unique event. After all, when the global family of orthopaedic shoe technicians comes together, you just have to be present! So welcome to The Hague.

Taking a peek beyond one’s own boundaries, making the acquain-tance of people and businesses from other countries, surprising and challenging one another. The programme committee of IVO 2009 has made a selection of interesting speeches to offer you an attractive and diverse programme. Subjects range from the state of the art in industry, research and development, prescription of aids, develop-ments in education, to lifestyle and sports. Special attention will be giving to orthopaedic issues related to diabetes and children. Promi-nent and at times controversial keynote speakers will open and close the day programmes. Finally, space has been reserved on the trade fl oor for a number of illustrative poster presentations. Also, there are a number of workshops in which you are more than welcome to par-ticipate. The programme offers an ideal opportunity for orthopaedic shoe technicians, (rehabilitation) physicians, orthopaedists, podo-therapists, pedicurists, entrepreneurs, educators and scientists from all over the world to meet one another in an informal setting. However, it is also the venue at which to acquaint employees and students with the latest developments in the fi eld of orthopaedic shoe technology and related trades. Partnership in Footcare is the central theme of this two-day conference.
All plenary sessions will be held in the largest hall. The other halls are scheduled to host lectures and workshops, at which professional speakers will share their knowledge of developments in their own particular discipline with you. For your convenience, all speeches in the World Forum Theatre (plenary hall) will be simultaneously interpreted into Dutch, French, German and Japanese.

On behalf of the organisation committee, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 17th world conference on orthopaedic
shoe technology IVO 2009. We have worked very hard during the past three years to ensure that this event will become an absolute success. We thank you and all sponsors, speakers, participants and employees in contributing towards this success.
IVO 2009 offers a highly varied conference programme with numerous prominent keynote speakers. Additionally, there are instructive workshops and a comprehensive trade fair where you can familiarise yourself with the latest innovations and technology. Outside the formal programme, there are informal opportunities to meet your colleagues and other professionals during the festive evenings in Madurodam and Vlijmen.
As organisation committee, we are very proud of the result and wish you an instructive and successful conference!

Opening celebrations at Jos America
The festive opening of Jos America’s new premises is to be held on the afternoon of Saturday 14 November. You are also welcome to attend. The dresscode is business- casual. Coaches are to be laid on to ferry visitors back and forth between The Hague and Vlijmen. This also promises to be a great party. Don’t miss it!
Party evening in Madurodam
An informal party, with entertainment and culinary delights, is to be held on Friday evening 13 November 2009 in Madurodam, the Netherlands’ smallest city. The dresscode is casual. Register and make sure you’re there!

Dan Blocka, B.Sc., C.O. (c), F.C.B.C. Chairman of the International Society for Prosthetics & Orthotics (ISPO) Dan Blocka was appointed Chairman of the ISPO during its World Congress 2007. Mr Blocka is also coordinator of the Prosthetic and Orthotic programmes at George Brown College, and has over twenty years of experience as a lecturer and GP. In his capacity as Chairman of the ISPO, Blocka is involved in over twenty fi ve ISPO studies into training programmes being run in the fi eld of prosthetics and orthotics worldwide. In addition, he is actively involved in the further development of educational and professional standards and protocols for the ISPO.
Adjiedj Bakas Trendwatcher of The Year 2009 ‘People who can’t have a laugh, shouldn’t work in a shop,’ according to trend watcher Adjiedj Bakas. He combines knowledge and entertainment to provide ‘infotainment’. The Volkskrant newspaper referred to him as ‘prominent’; NRC Handelsblad ‘inspiring’; Elsevier ‘evocative’; CNN ‘optimistic’; TV2 News Denmark ‘provocative’; and according to the BBC, ‘he makes you feel happy’. Mr Bakas (1963) was born in South America to Indian parents, and has been living and working in the Netherlands since 1983. He is the author of various infl uential works, including Megatrends Europe (2006) and Living Without Oil (2007). His latest book, Beyond the Crisis, was published in 2009.
Erica Terpstra Chair of the NOC*NSF
Erica Terpstra entered the political circuit through the world of sport. She was formerly the Netherlands State Secretary for is Health, Welfare & Sport, responsible for youth & elderly policy, policy relating to the handi-capped, insurance under the Exceptional Medical Expenses Act (AWBZ) and sport. In 1996, she introduced the client-linked budget, which was a breakthrough in the Netherlands’ health care funding system. Ms Terpstra is currently Chair of the NOC*NSF. The Netherlands Olympic Committee * Netherlands Sports Federation (NOC*NSF) is the body that represents the broad range of interests of organised sport in the Netherlands.
Mario Lafortune Director of the Nike Sport Research Laboratory
Mario Lafortune has been the Director of the Nike Sport Research Laboratory since the mid-nineteen nineties. He also holds the post of Professor of Sport at the University of Porto in Portugal. Having completed various studies, including Biomechanics, Mr Lafortune has pursued a career as a researcher and subsequently professor at various univer-sities in France, Canada, USA, Australia and Germany. He is a popular choice as a key-note speaker at conferences and seminars, due to his sound understanding of both bio-mechanics and humane biology. Mr Lafortune has also put his name to an impressive list of scientifi c publications. He established the Nike Shoes Award, and is a member of the editing teams of various scientifi c publications, such as the Journal of Sports Engineering and Technology and Footwear Science.

The Hague increasingly presents itself as the City of Peace and Justice, given that it is hosts the headquarters of such prestigious bodies as the UN International Court of Justice and Europol. However, The Hague has so much more to offer. It is also the seat of government of the Netherlands. This unique city nestling behind the sand dunes, offers stunning beaches at Scheveningen and Kijkduin, an historic city centre, almost limitless shopping facilities, countless hotels and (trendy) restaurants and a vast range of tourist attractions.
The Hague is centrally located, both within the Netherlands and Europe, and offers easy accessibility by private and public transport. Cities such as Amsterdam (Schiphol Airport) and Rotterdam are within easy reach, while the series of windmills at Kinderdijk and the historic cities of Delft and Leiden are literally just around the corner.

The World Forum is located in The Hague’s international zone. This combination of a multifunctional auditorium/theatre and diverse break-out areas renders the World Forum the ideal venue for the IVO 2009 Conference and Exhibition.
Parking facilities
The World Forum has ample on-site parking capacity. Exit passes are available from the ticket machines in the central entrance lobby and at the entrance to the car park.
Public transport
The World Forum is just a short distance from various airports, stations and motorways. Participants will nevertheless benefit greatly from the convenience a public transport pass offers. The pass is valid for use on bus and tram services in The Hague, Scheveningen and Rijswijk. The charge applicable for a 3-day public transport pass is approx. €13.

With a view to adequately informing you which lectures you might wish to attend as a visitor to IVO 2009, we have drawn up a brief tour of the programme for you. The tour was compiled on the basis of topics which may be of interest to you. Grasp this opportu-nity to plan your visit to the IVO Global Conference in advance, to make absolutely sure you do not miss anything important!
Topic 1:
State of Industry
As the title suggests, this topic focuses on the current state of affairs in our trade. This includes technology, innovations and the manner in which the sector is organised. This session is designed to directly inform you. State of Industry is scheduled to be held in three blocks:
Block 1.1, from 11.00 to 12.30 hrs on 13/11/09, in Asia, has the title ‘Facts, Figures and the future’. It presents an up-to-date impression of the way that orthopaedic shoe technology is organised in various parts of the world, while several leading captains of industry present their visions of the future.
Block 1.2, from 10.45 to 12.30 hrs on 14/11/09, in Oceania, has the title ‘Technology’. During this block, various manufacturers and researchers will present their latest innovations in the use of ICT applications in the field of orthopaedic shoe technology.
Block 1.3, from 13.30 to 15.15 hrs on 14/11/009, in Europe, has the title ‘Manufacturers’. Various suppliers are to present the latest developments in their range of products and services here.
Topic 2:
Prescription
This topic focuses on prescription systems. How does one devise a suitable solution to a medical problem in a structured manner? Prescription will be give in two blocks: Block 2.1, from 11.00 to 12.30 hrs on 13/11/2009, in Europe, has the title ‘From diagnosis to functional demands’. The
pro cess of prescription is examined from various perspectives during this session. Block 2.2, from 13.30 to 15.15 hrs on 13/11/2009, in the World Forum Theatre, has the title ‘Management systemsfor foot care specialists’. During this session, various speakers are to discuss the underlying techniques for the structured resolution of foot problems. This session is an absolute must for professionals keen to gain greater insight into care protocols!
Topic 3:
Education
These blocks focus on educational develop-ments. This information is to be presented in two blocks:
Block 3.1, from 13.30 to 15.15 hrs on 13/11/09, in Asia, has the title ‘Developments in Education’. Here, various policy-makers in the educational sector will speak about the latest developments in the field of vocational training for the foot care sector.
Block 3.2, from 10.45 to 12.30 hrs on 14/11/2009, in the World Forum Theatre, has the title ‘Education for the profession’. This block comprises practical workshops organised by and for professionals.
Topic 4:
Lifestyle and Sports
Block 4.1, from 13.30 to 15.15 hrs on 13/11/09, in Europe, has the title ‘Lifestyle and sports’. This session, to be chaired by our keynote speaker representing Nike, will identify the connections between sport and foot problems in the form of several presentations.
Topic 5:
Research and development
This is the main topic of the IVO Global Conference, which comprises 5 blocks spread over 2 days!
Block 5.1, from 11.00 to 12.30 hrs on 13/11/09 in the World Forum Theatre, has the title ‘Innovation and technology’. Various re-searchers are to present the findings of
their studies in the field of innovation and technology here.
Block 5.2, from 13.30 to 15.15 hrs on 13/11/09, in Oceania, has the title ‘Diabetes’. This chronic illness affects the lives of many people in a quite substantial manner. Researchers are to present the latest findings of their efforts to minimise the effects of the illness. Block 5.3, from 10.45 to 12.30 hrs on 14/11/09, in Europe, has the title ‘Biomechanics’. Various speakers will hold presentations on the biomechanical aspects of shoe solutions. This is a must for any professional regularly involved in providing this type of solution, as it provides further insight into the theory behind their work.
Block 5.4, from 13.30 to 15.15 hrs on 14/11/09, in Asia, has the title ‘Gait bio mechanics’. Various speakers will present the results of their studies of aspects such as gait analysis and pressure measurement.
Block 5.5, from 13.30 to 15.15 hrs on 14/11/09, in Oceania, has the title ‘Clinical Care’. During this session, various professionals will present their visions of the treatment of a vast range of foot problems. A session that is truly by professionals, for professionals!
Topic 6:
Children and shoes
Block 6.1, from 10.45 to 12.30 hrs on 14/11/09, in Asia, has the title ‘Children and shoes’. Professionals in the childcare sector describe the latest state of affairs in the field of resolving children’s foot problems.
Topic 7:
Facts en France and Japan
Block 7.1, from 13.30 to 15.15 hrs on 14/11/2009, in the World Forum Theatre, has the title ‘Facts and France and Japan’. Speakers from all over the world, but primarily Japan and France, are to discuss their latest findings in the World Forum Theatre. Special simultaneous interpreting facilities are available for this session, enabling you to follow it entirely in your own language!

Het congresprogramma is gevarieerd en spraakmakend. Het brengt u op de hoogte van de nieuwste ontwikkelingen op uw vakgebied op een manier die voor technici en managers even interessant is. Over de grenzen kijken, kennismaken met mensen en bedrijven uit andere landen, elkaar verrassen en elkaar uitdagen. De program-macommissie van IVO 2009 heeft door de vele bijdragen aan voordrachten voor u een aantrekkelijk en afwisselend programma samen kunnen stellen. Een programma waarin de state of the art op het vlak van industrie, research en development, voorschrijven van hulpmiddelen, ontwikkelingen op vlak van onderwijs, tot en met lifestyle en sport aan bod komen. Speciale aandacht wordt gegeven aan schoenvraagstukken rondom diabetes en kinderen. Aansprekende en soms prikkelende Keynote voordrachten openen en sluiten de dagprogramma’s. Op de beursvloer is ten slotte ruimte gereserveerd voor een aantal posterpresentaties waarbij u direct van de betrokkenen kunt vernemen wat de stand van zaken is. Ook zijn er een aantal workshops waarbij uw deelname van harte op prijs wordt gesteld.
Het programma is een uitgelezen kans voor u als orthopedisch schoentechnicus, (revalidatie) artsen, orthopeden, podotherapeu-ten, pedicures, ondernemers, opleiders en wetenschappers uit de wereld, om elkaar op een informele manier te ontmoeten. En, om medewerkers en studenten kennis te laten maken met de nieuw-ste ontwikkelingen op het gebied van orthopedisch schoen-techniek en aanverwante beroepen. Partnership in Footcare is de rode draad van dit twee dagen durende congres.
In de grootste zaal zullen alle plenaire sessies plaatsvinden. In de andere zalen zijn lezingen en workshops gepland waar profes-sionele sprekers hun kennis over de ontwikkelingen binnen hun specifi eke vak met u zullen delen. Alle voordrachten in het World Forum Theatre (plenaire zaal) worden bovendien simultaan vertaald naar het Engels, Duits, Frans en Japans. Bovendien zullen alle voordrachten naar het Nederlands vertaald worden zodat ook diegenen die een vreemde taal niet geheel machtig zijn, alles goed kunnen volgen.
Namens de programmacommissie wens ik u allen een interes-sant, leerzaam, uitdagend en vooral gezellig congres toe.

IVO 2009. We hebben afgelopen 3 jaar hard gewerkt om dit evenement voor u tot een absoluut succes te maken. Wij zijn u en alle sponsors, sprekers, deelnemers en medewerkers dank-baar voor hun inbreng in dit succes.
IVO 2009 staat voor een zeer gevarieerd congresprogramma met vele indrukwekkende keynote speakers. Daarnaast zijn er leerzame workshops en is er een uitgebreide beurs waar u kennis kunt nemen van de laatste innovaties en technologie. Naast het formele programma is er ook de mogelijkheid om uw collega's en andere professionals te ontmoeten tijdens de feestavonden in Madurodam en in Vlijmen.

Feestavond bij Jos America
Op zaterdag 14 november, in de namiddag, wordt het nieuwe pand van Jos America feestelijk geopend. U kunt hierbij ook aanwezig zijn. De dresscode is zakelijk casual. Met bussen worden de bezoekers van Den Haag naar Vlijmen vervoerd en weer terug. Ook dit belooft een zeer gezellig feest te worden. Mis het niet en meldt u zich aan!
Feestavond in Madurodam
Op vrijdagavond 13 november 2009 wordt in Madurodam, de kleinste stad van Nederland, een informele feestavond vol entertainment en culinaire momenten georganiseerd. De dresscode is casual . Zorg dat u hier bij bent en meldt u zich aan!

International Society for Protheses & Orthotics (ISPO) Dan Blocka is tijdens het ISPO 2007 Wereld Congres gekozen tot voorzitter van het ISPO. Blocka is ook coördinator van het onderwijsprogramma van het George Brown College Prothetic and Orthotic en heeft meer dan 20 jaar ervaring als docent en huisarts. In zijn rol bij ISPO is Blocka betrokken bij meer dan vijfentwintig ISPO onderzoeken naar opleidingsprogramma’s die wereldwijd worden uitgevoerd op het gebied van prothesen en orthesen.
Daarnaast is hij actief betrokken bij de verdere ontwikkeling van educatieve en professionele standaarden en protocollen voor ISPO.
Adjiedj Bakas Trendwatcher of The Year 2009 “Wie niet kan lachen, moet niet in een win-keltje werken”, aldus trendwatcher Adjiedj Bakas. Hij koppelt kennis aan entertain-ment en levert daarmee “infotainentertain-ment”. De Volkskrant noemt hem “prominent”, NRC Handelsblad “inspirerend”, Elsevier “prik-kelend”, CNN “optimistisch”, TV2 Journaal Denemarken “provocerend” en volgens de BBC “word je blij van hem”. Bakas (1963) is geboren in Zuid-Amerika uit Indiase ouders en woont en werkt vanaf 1983 in Nederland. Hij schreef gezaghebbende boeken, zoals Megatrends Europe (2006) en Leven Zonder Olie (2007). In 2009 is het boek Beyond the Crisis verschenen.
Erica Terpstra Voorzitter NOC*NSF Via de sport is Erica Terpstra in de politiek gekomen. Ze was als Staatssecretaris van Volks gezondheid, Welzijn en Sport, belast met jeugd- en ouderenbeleid, beleid voor mensen met een handicap, de AWBZ-ver-zekering en sport. In 1996 introduceerde zij het Persoonsgebonden budget, een doorbraak in het ziektekostenstelsel in Nederland. Op dit moment is Terpstra Voorzitter NOC*NSF. Het Nederlands Olympisch Comité* Nederlandse Sport Federatie (NOC*NSF) is de bundeling van de georganiseerde sport in Nederland.
Mario Lafortune Directeur Nike Sport Onderzoeks
Laboratorium Mario Lafortune is sinds medio jaren negen-tig directeur van het Nike Sport Onderzoeks Labora torium. Daarnaast is hij hoogleraar aan de faculteit sport van de Universiteit van Porto in Portugal. Lafortune studeerde o.a. Biomechanica en was daarna als onder-zoeker en later als hoogleraar werkzaam aan diverse universiteiten in Frankrijk, Canada, USA, Australië en Duitsland. Vanwege zijn goede kennis van de biomechanica en de humane biologie is hij een veelgevraagd Key Note Speaker op congressen. Lafortune heeft een groot aantal wetenschappelijke publicaties op zijn naam staan. Hij is oprichter van de Nike Schoenen Award en redactielid van wetenschappelijke tijdschriften zoals de Journal of Sports Engineering and Technology en Footwear Science.

U kunt netwerken tijdens de diverse koffi e/thee/lunch pauzes op de beursvloer, tijdens de feestavond in Madurodam en tijdens de feestelijke opening van het nieuwe bedrijfspand van Jos America. Ontspan onder het genot van een hapje en een drankje en maak (nader) kennis met vele andere professionals die werkzaam zijn in de voeten- en schoenenbranche.

Den Haag profileert zich met o.a. de hoofdzetels van het Internationale Gerechtshof van de VN en Europol steeds sterker als de stad van de Vrede en het Recht. Maar Den Haag is meer. Het is ook het bestuurlijk centrum van Nederland. De unieke stad achter de duinen, met de mooie stranden in Scheveningen en Kijkduin, de historische binnenstad, de ongekende shoppingmogelijkheden, de talloze hotels en (trendy) restaurants en een grote reeks attracties.
Den Haag is centraal gelegen en goed bereik-baar met auto en openbereik-baar vervoer. Steden als Amsterdam (Schiphol) en Rotterdam liggen zeer nabij. Ook de molens van Kinderdijk en de historische steden Delft en Leiden liggen om de hoek.

Het World Forum is gevestigd in de internationale zone van Den Haag. De combinatie van een multifunctioneel auditorium/theater en diverse break out ruimtes maakt het World Forum de perfecte locatie voor het IVO 2009 Congres en Beurs.
Parkeren
Het World Forum beschikt over eigen ruime parkeercapaciteit. Uitrijkaarten zijn verkrijg-baar via de automaten in de centrale entree en bij de ingang van de parkeergarage.
Openbaar vervoer
Het World Forum ligt op korte afstand van luchthavens, stations en snelwegen. Deel-nemers hebben veel gemak van een openbaar vervoer kaart. De kaart kunt u gedurende het congres gebruiken in de bus en tram in Den Haag, Scheveningen en Rijswijk. De kosten voor de 3-daagse openbaar vervoer kaart bedragen ca. €13,-.

Inleiding
Om u als bezoeker van IVO 2009 optimaal te informeren over welke lezingen u moet gaan bezoeken, hebben we voor u een kleine rondleiding door het programma opgesteld. Wij hebben deze rondleiding voor u samengesteld aan de hand van thema's die mogelijk uw interesse hebben. Doe er uw voordeel mee en plan uw IVO Wereldcongres vooraf zodat u niets mist!
Thema 1:
State of Industry
Dit thema staat in het teken van de laatste stand van zaken in ons vak. Of het nu gaat om technologie, innovaties of de wijze waar-op ons vak georganiseerd is. U bent in deze sessie direct geinformeerd. State of Industry wordt in 3 blokken geprogrammeerd: Blok 1.1 op 13-11-2009 in Asia van 11.00-12.30 heeft als titel "Facts, Figures and the fu-ture". Hier wordt een actueel beeld geschetst van de wijze waar op orthopedische schoen-techniek in de verschillende delen van de wereld is georganiseerd en geven een aantal vooraanstaande captains of industry hun visie op de toekomst.
Blok 1.2 op 14-11-2009 in Oceania van 11.45 tot 12.30 heeft als titel "Technology". In dit blok presenteren diverse fabrikanten en onderzoekers hun laatste innovaties op het gebied van het toepassen van ICT in de orthopedische schoentechniek.
Blok 1.3 op 14-11-2009 in Europe van 13.30 tot 15.15 heeft de Titel "Manufacturers". Hier wor-den de laatste product en dienst ontwikkelingen door diverse leveranciers gepresenteerd.
Thema 2:
Prescription
Dit thema gaat over voorschrijf systemen. Hoe vertaal je een medisch probleem naar een oplossing op een gestructureerde wijze? Prescription wordt in 2 blokken gegeven: Blok 2.1 op 13-11-2009 in Europe van 11.00 tot 12.30 heeft als titel "from diagnosis to
functional demands". Tijdens deze sessie wordt het gestructureerd voorschrijven van-uit verschillende invalshoeken behandeld. Blok 2.2 op 13-11-2009 in World Forum Theater van 13.30 tot 15.15 draagt de titel "Managements systems for footcare specia-lists". Hier wordt door diverse sprekers in-gegaan op de technieken achter het gestruc-tureerd oplossen van voetproblemen. Voor professionals die zich willen verdiepen in zorg protocollen is dit een absolute aanrader!
Thema 3:
Education
In deze blokken komen onderwijs ontwikke-lingen aan bod. U krijgt deze informatie in twee blokken aangeboden:
Blok 3.1 op 13-11-2009 in Asia van 13.30 tot 15.15 draagt de titel "Developments in Education". Hier spreken diverse beleids-makers op het gebied van opleiden over de laatste ontwikkelingen op het gebied van het op-leiden van vakmensen.
Blok 3.2 op 14-11-2009 in het World Forum Theater van 10.45 tot 12.30 heeft als titel "Education for the profession". Hier worden praktische workshops georganiseerd voor en door professionals.
Thema 4:
Lifestyle and Sports
Blok 4.1 op 13-11-2009 in Europe van 13.30 tot 15.15 is getiteld "Lifestyle and sports". Deze sessie wordt voorgezeten door onze keynote speaker van Nike en legt verbanden tussen sport en voetproblematiek middels diverse presentaties.
Thema 5:
Research and development
Dit is het grootste thema van het IVO wereld congres en bestrijkt maar liefst 5 blokken over 2 dagen!
Blok 5.1 op 13-11-2009 in het World Forum Theater van 11.00 tot 12.30 uur heeft als titel "innovation and technology". Diverse
onderzoekers presenteren hier hun onder-zoeksresultaten op het gebied van innovatie en technology.
Blok 5.2 op 13-11-2009 in Oceania van 13.30 tot 15.15 draagt de titel "Diabetes". Deze chronische ziekte grijpt op een indruk wekkende manier in op het leven van vele mensen. Onderzoekers presenteren hier hun laatste resultaten om de gevolgen van deze ziekte te beperken. Blok 5.3 op 14-11-2009 in Europe van 10.45 tot 12.30 is getiteld "Biomechanics". Diverse sprekers zullen de biomechanische aspec-ten van schoenoplossingen presenteren. Een must voor de professional die veel met dit type oplossingen werkt om een beter inzicht te krijgen in de theoretische achter-gronden van hun werk.
Blok 5.4 op 14-11-2009 in Asia van 13.30 tot 15.15 heeft als titel "Gait biomechanics". Hier zullen diverse sprekers hun onderzoeks-resultaten presenteren op het gebied van onder andere gangbeeld analyse en drukmeting. Blok 5.5 op 14-11-209 in Oceania van 13.30 tot 15.15 draagt de titel "Clinical Care". Diverse professionals geven hier hun visie op de behandeling van uiteenlopende voetproble-matiek. Een echte profs voor profs sessie!
Thema 6:
Children and shoes
Blok 6.1 op 14-11-2009 in Asia van 10.45 tot 12.30 en draagt de titel "Children and shoes". Professionals in de jeugdzorg geven de laatste stand van zaken weer op het gebied van het oplossen van voetproblemen bij kinderen.
Thema 7:
Facts en France and Japan
Blok 7.1 op 14-11-2009 in World Forum Theater van 13.30 tot 15.15 getiteld "Facts en France and Japan". Diverse sprekers uit de hele wereld maar met name uit Japan en Frankrijk zullen hun laatste bevindingen bespreken in het World Forum Theater. Voor deze sessie zijn speciale tolk faciliteiten aanwezig zodat u alles in uw eigen taal kunt volgen!

Über die Grenzen blicken, Fachleute und Unternehmen aus anderen Ländern kennen lernen, sich gegenseitig überraschen und vor Herausforderungen stellen. Das Programmkomitee des IVO-Kongresses 2009 konnte dank der vielen eingereichten Vorträge ein attraktives und abwechslungsreiches Programm zusammenstellen. Ein Programm, das sich dem neuesten Entwicklungsstand in den Bereichen Industrie, Forschung und Entwicklung, Verschreiben von Hilfsmitteln, Ausbildung sowie Themen wie Lifestyle und Sport widmet. Besonderes Augenmerk gilt den Schuhproblemen von Diabetikern und Kindern. Interes-sante und manchmal provozierende Grundsatzreden werden das jeweilige Tagesprogramm eröffnen und beschließen. Außerdem bietet die Fachausstellung Platz für einige Posterpräsentationen. Dort werden Sie von den Beteiligten direkt über die aktuelle Sachlage informiert. Festabend bei Jos America
Am Samstag, den 14. November 2009 wird am Nachmittag das neue Betriebsgebäude von Jos America festlich eingeweiht. Sie können an dieser Feier ebenfalls teilnehmen. Die Kleiderordnung ist Business Casual. Die Besucher werden mit Bussen von Den Haag nach Vlijmen und wieder zurück gefahren. Auch das verspricht, ein äußerst gemütliches Fest zu werden. Dabei sollten Sie nicht fehlen!

Dan Blocka, B.Sc., C.O. (c), F.C.B.C. Vorsitzender der International Society for Protheses & Orthotics (ISPO) Dan Blocka wurde während des ISPO- Weltkongresses 2007 zum Vorsitzenden der ISPO gewählt. Dan Blocka ist außerdem als Koordinator für das Ausbildungsprogramm des George Brown College Prothetic and Orthotic tätig und verfügt über mehr als 20 Jahre Erfahrung als Dozent und Hausarzt. Im Rahmen seiner Funktion bei der ISPO ist er an über 25 ISPO-Studien zu Ausbildungs-programmen, die weltweit auf dem Gebiet von Prothesen und Orthesen durchgeführt werden, beteiligt. Des Weiteren engagi ert er sich aktiv für die Weiterentwicklung von Pädagogik- und Fachstandards und -protokollen für ISPO.
Adjiedj Bakas Trendwatcher of The Year 2009 „Wer nicht lachen kann, sollte nicht in einem Laden arbeiten“, so Trendwatcher Adjiedj Bakas. Er verbindet Know-how mit Enter-tainment und das ergibt „InfoEnter-tainment“. Die niederländische Presse nennt ihn „prominent“ (Volkskrant), „inspirierend“ (NRC Handelsblad) und „anregend“ (Elsevier). CNN bezeichnet ihn als „optimistisch“, das TV2-Journal in Dänemark als „provokativ“ und laut BBC „stimmt er uns fröhlich“. Bakas wurde 1963 als Sohn indischer Eltern in Südamerika ge-boren und arbeitet seit 1983 in den Nieder-landen. Er verfasste einfl ussreiche Bücher, wie Megatrends Europe (2006) und Leven Zonder Olie (Leben ohne Öl)(2007). 2009 erschien sein Buch Beyond the Crisis.
Erica Terpstra Vorsitzende NOC*NSF
Über den Sport kam Erica Terpstra in die Politik. Ihr Aufgabengebiet als Staatssekretärin für Volksgesundheit, Wohlfahrt und Sport umfasste Jugend-, Senioren- und Behinderten-politik, die Versicherung für Besondere Krankheitskosten (AWBZ) und Sport. 1996 führte sie das personengebundene Budget ein, ein Durchbruch im niederländischen Krankenversicherungssystem. Im Moment ist Erica Terpstra Vorsitzende des Nationalen Olympischen Komitees und Sportdach-verbandes der Niederlande (NOC*NSF), in dem der niederländische organisierte Sport zusammengeführt wurde.
Mario Lafortune Direktor des Nike Sport Forschungslabors Mario Lafortune leitet seit Mitte der 90er Jahre das Nike Sport Forschungslabor. Darüber hinaus ist er Dozent an der Sport-fakultät der Universität von Porto in Portugal. Mario Lafortune studierte u. a. Biomechanik und war anschließend als Forscher und später als Dozent an mehreren Universitäten in Frankreich, Kanada, den USA, Australien und Deutschland tätig. Aufgrund seiner umfangreichen Kenntnisse der Biomechanik und Humanbiologie ist er ein gefragter Referent auf Kongressen. Er hat zahlreiche wissenschaftliche Arbeiten publiziert, ist Gründer des Nike Schoenen Award und Redaktionsmitglied wissenschaftlicher Fach-zeitschriften, wie Journal of Sports Engi-neering and Technology und Footwear Science.

Den Haag profiliert sich u.a. mit dem Hauptsitz des Internationalen Gerichtshofs der Vereinten Nationen und Europol immer stärker als Stadt des Friedens und des Rechts. Aber Den Haag ist mehr. Hier befindet sich das Verwaltungszentrum der Niederlande. Diese einzigartige Stadt hinter den Dünen mit den schönen Stränden in Scheveningen und Kijkduin besticht außerdem durch ihre historische Innenstadt, beispiellose Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, zahllose Hotels und (trendy) Restaurants sowie eine Vielzahl anderer Sehenswürdigkeiten.
Den Haag ist zentral gelegen und gut mit dem Auto und öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln erreichbar. Die Städte Amsterdam (Schiphol) und Rotterdam sind ebenfalls nicht weit ent-fernt. Die Windmühlen von Kinderdijk sowie die historischen Städte Delft und Leiden befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe.

Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel
Das World Forum ist gut an Flughäfen, Bahnhöfe und Autobahnen angebunden. Für Kongressteilnehmer bietet eine Karte für die Nutzung der öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel viele praktische Vorteile. Die Karte ist während des Kongresses im Bus und in der Straßen-bahn in Den Haag, Scheveningen und Rijswijk gültig und kostet für 3 Tage etwa €13,-.
