1 平成 30 年度マイケル・ハリントン博士公開講座のお知らせ 昭和女子大学大学院文学研究科 文学言語学専攻主任 横山 紀子 オーストラリアの名門大学であるクイーンズランド大学のマイケル・ハリントン 博士（昭和女子大学客員教授）による下記の講座を一般に公開いたします。 このうち初回の「第一講時（90 分）」の授業は無料公開といたします。 本年度は量的研究方法に焦点をおいた公開講座となります。第 1 週目は記述統計 から始まり、t 検定や分散分析を中心に取り扱い、第 2 週目は相関分析、回帰分析 へと進みます。量的研究には欠かせない統計処理に関する指導を、著名な言語教育 の専門家から直接受けられるまたとない機会ですので、奮ってご応募下さい。 1. 講座名：

6. 講師紹介：
The seminar is presented by Dr Michael Harrington, an Associate Professor of Second Language Acquisition at the University of Queensland, Australia and Visiting Professor at Showa Women’s University. At the University of Queensland, he teaches quantitative research methods and second language acquisition. He publishes in the areas of second language processing, lexical development and testing. His book Lexical facility: size, speed and consistency as dimensions of second language vocabulary knowledge was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2018.
マイケル・ハリントン博士はクイーンズランド大学准教授（第二言語習得）で、昭 和女子大学客員教授でもあります。クイーンズランド大学において量的研究方法お
よび第二言語習得のコースを担当され、第二言語処理、語彙習得、テステイングな
どの分野で多くの著書・論文があります。直近の著書であるLexical facility: size, speed and consistency as dimensions of second language vocabulary knowledge は 2018 年 に Palgrave Macmillan から出版されました。
