Abstract

In this study, we have developed the clickable movie that interactively responds to the input on the movie. Clicking a certain area while the clickable movie is play-backed by its player, associated information such as the text string and the image is displayed on the screen. In the clickable movie, connection information is held on a XML file, which is separate from the movie file. A movie file can be easily converted to a clickable movie, because only the connection information part is added and the movie file part is unchanged.

We have proposed the CMML ( Clickable Movie Markup Language ) as the XML for the connection information. And we have developed the authoring tool that interactively creates the clickable movie while the movie file is displayed.

The clickable movie can be used as an educational tool by making the CMML file adapted to the movie file. *
