Abstract Practical use level has the ceramic bearing which is superior in a high temperature characteristic, and it is
important to demand the rating lift of the ceramic bearing under various conditions. On the other hand, the staircase method is one of the statistical life test methods, and sample number a fewer than a conventional test method and the practice for the short time are possible. In a report of the application of this staircase method, we discussed the rating lift of the ceramic bearings in the unlubricated conditions with a high-temperature in the atmospheric air.
