Special Section on Parallel/Distributed Processing and Systems

Welcome to the Special Section on Parallel/Distributed Processing and Systems, the IEICE Transactions on Information and Systems. Nowadays, the improvement of the performance of a single microprocessor is saturated. Thus, there is an increasing interest in parallel and distributed systems that accelerate the computation. The purpose of this special section is to present the recent advances and developments in the field of Parallel and Distributed Processing and Systems.

In response of the call for paper for this Special Section, we received 28 submissions. Each paper was of exceptional quality and presented a unique contribution in the field. The Editorial Committee undertook the difficult job of carefully evaluating the submitted papers. After a thorough reviewing process, we were able to accept 8 papers, for publication in this Special Section.

The Guest Editors would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the authors for their efforts in preparing and submitting their excellent manuscripts, and to the reviewers for their professional and vol-untary work. Words of appreciation also go to the editorial board of the IEICE Transactions on Information and Systems. Without their support, this special issue would not have been possible. Finally, we would like to express our appreciation for the large efforts of the Editorial Committee Members. Their names and affiliations are listed below.

Next we shall prove Lemma 3.. Then G=F' follows from Proposition 1. This completes the proof of Lemma 3. Let us consider the exact sequence.. r\

This paper is devoted to the investigation of the global asymptotic stability properties of switched systems subject to internal constant point delays, while the matrices defining

In this paper, we focus on the existence and some properties of disease-free and endemic equilibrium points of a SVEIRS model subject to an eventual constant regular vaccination

We study the classical invariant theory of the B´ ezoutiant R(A, B) of a pair of binary forms A, B.. We also describe a ‘generic reduc- tion formula’ which recovers B from R(A, B)
