Abstract: Two experimental inserts, which can be installed into the shared apparatus, and a compact schlieren optics system were tested and used in normal and microgravity experiments. Combination test of the experimental insert of Kyusyu univ. and the apparatus for microgravity experiments of Nihon univ. was conducted. Four projects have been carried out, namely, temperature measurements near a droplet igniting at high-pressures, study on ignition and combustion characteristics of bifuel droplet consisting of two fuels with different volatility and/or reactivity, study on evaporation and ignition of a biomass fuel droplet, and study on effect of pressure on flame spreading along a fuel droplet array.!
